Pretty much the same way that mormons react when they are confronted by evidence that contradicts their core belief. Most ignore, some argue and a few start the divorce procedings. Mormonism does partially solve the evil /good god paradox by implementing a pre mortal state for the spirit in which a decision must be made by each individual to come to a state of mortality and experience good and bad in order to increase the experiential knowledge of that spirit in prepapration for a later potential higher state (being a god.) So God says it will hurt do you still want to go? - in effect repeating the Eden scenario for each individual who must choose knowledge (a corollary and requirement for exaltation) via mortality with its pain, suffering and death. Mormonism also now timidly states that God also went through this process to become a god.
Mormonism also makes you wear stupid clothes to gain exaltation which is one of many areas where the interesting philosophy then all goes to crazy sh*t :)

Who Made The Code?
by Perry ina few weeks ago, discoveries were made that show that there is another dna code language that rides on top of the already incredibly complex 4-letter code previously discovered.
this newly discovered code apparently regulates how genes work.
as i noted in a previous thread, the amount of data storage available in the dna storage system just the size of a pin-head would filll a stack of books stacked from your driveway to the moon .... 500 times!

Seems to me that this is the standard communication problem that results fom two different worldviews. The philosophical one doesn't really care about 'how' but wants to answer 'why' and the scientific one keeps explaining 'how' but doesn't really care so much about 'why' .
S&R has put together a superb scientific response (how) while Perry seems to be saying that the 'how' cannot explain the 'why' and is therefore deficient. The 'why' is of course speculative and so we get opinion but no substance as the 'why' has no explanatory power as to 'how' (the bible doesn't contain information on genetics for example.) Those seeking 'how' answers normally detest opinion based 'why' answers and those seeking 'why' answers cannot always fathom what is so special with 'how' answers and get frustrated when a 'how' contradicts an expected evidence for a 'why'. This paragraph will now explode as it is too horrible to read again.
Philosophers and lovers of why - you would do well to ask yourself if the how answers given here are really at odds with your decided why and then a lot of misguided attacks on the world of how knowledge can be avoided.

as you may know, i'm lds and i believe there's substantial evidence for the historicity of the book.
but i'm also aware there's evidence and proof.

I'm part of an active ex LDs community and in a straw poll of the 200 members of that group a rough average active membership per ward , being generous, was 120.
120 * 335 = 40200.
188462 - 40200 = 148262 inactive members in the UK.
