I didn't know you needed to be an expert!
As a dad with kids in boxes :) I get very intense about protecting them from sexual predators. I have zero time for paedophiles they are the scum of the earth (IMO) and I'd be fairly unfazed if they were put on death row however , since I live in a society that defends everyone's rights by defending the criminal to the hilt and ensures justice hits the most law abiding the hardest and extends the most mercy to the guilty I guess I'll just have to push for removal of their vegetables.
I vote.

Maybe, but one hell of a deterant.
Losing sexual desire would still go along way to removing the problem since a large part of sexual crimes are driven by perverted sexual attraction.

What you could do with is some smart non jw kid suing the WTS society for loss of jw parents due to difference in beliefs. They could sue for the costs of the state providing foster parents and then for the emotional trauma that will affect their future life and earnings. To finish off the kid could claim costs and file for legal parental divorce.
OK I'm just kidding. -

Totally screwed up.
by betrayedbyall inhi, its been a few months since i last visited the forum and to be honest in that time my life has just continued to go downhill, does it ever get any easier guys, i have been so close to ending it all a few times and dont know how much longer i can take the anquish and pain which i feel every day !!!!!!!!.
i now have no job, no friends, and no desire to fight anymore, i sit here day after day just wanting to sleep so that the mental pain will go away and yet i want peace so much.. my old mum who turns 80 next month, and who has been a witness for 50 years, has been so hurt by the events that led to my dissasociation she has now stopped going to the kingdoom hall, but i can see how sad and confused she is and i feel i have caused her great hurt in her later years, she has a bad heart and looks so worn down, i am worried sick she may pass away in this condition and this is tearing me apart also.
you might remember i lost my job after 28 years after being bullied and putting in a claim of harrasment, i then started up my own business and 10 witnesses worked for me, the lies and deceit was beyond words and in the end i had to close most of the business down, after that it was only myself and a non witness friend who were working together.

..would avoid any relgious groups at the mo'
If I was you I would consider some quiet 'me' time hill walking or rambling in the woods. When you find that something crucial and fundamental to your life isn't what you want / have anymore its devastating ( I guess just the same as divorce - family bereavement etc..) If you can ride the pain time will help, non-judgmental friends will help as well but above all make sure you don't attack yourself or play any negative 'tapes' over and over again in your mind - you can examine things in fine detail some time in the future. -

Question About The Religion
by ImACatholic injehovah's witnesses do not believe or teach some of the very basic tenets of christian doctrine.

2. the omnipresence of god.

Actually, now I think about it I was christened a catholic before I happily succumbed to the mormons.
Belief in any religion requires the acceptance of some bonkers stuff but also means that at the end of the day you are required to believe in truth , scientific, moral, social etc.. otherwise your religious beliefs are lies. Where non-believers get excited is when they think they have found a truth (almost always at least debateable) that disproves a religion in its entirety (ie This scripture says 'x' that one says its opposite 'y' ergo both are cr*p or 'science' just discovered a half eaten fossilised big mac which disproves the Exodus (Flame not - I'm joking around!))
As one crazy believer to another I've never found that giving a list of my beliefs was ever a proof or disproof of anyone else's belief system. The list of Catholic beliefs is easily 'refutable' using the bible JUST as my beliefs are - science can be used to support or blow us both away as well.)
I contend that noone is stupid when they join / leave any religion just making decisions based on how they feel and the facts available at the time. I met plenty of Catholics / JWs / atheists who believed as fervently as I do and only when we found common respect did we ever get anywhere.
Let's write lists of common stuff to agree on..
1/ Australia just got whupped (again) by the Brits at cricket.
2/ Chocolate is the greatest food ever made (surely the sign of a loving God ;)
3/ The Battlestar Galactica remake is fairly awesome (even though they left LDS references in!)
4/ JWs hats off for missionary effort - yaboo sucks for split families.
5/ Catholics biggest christian org - saints, not such a great idea (IMHO)
6/ Atheists intellectually unbeatable but so are snowmen :P -

How many of you are childfree by choice?
by rebel8 inby that, i mean you do not want to have children.. i have been told since birth it would not be safe for me to have children, so i never even considered it.
i never went through a grieving period because the concept of having babies was not something i once had and lost.
i always envisioned myself as a happy career woman.. i recently married and am still sure i don't want children.

I want 10 but I'll settle for 6. Before I got married my life felt very one dimensional, when I got married it changed the way I felt and think and the same happened when we had our first baby. I feel more fulfilled and rounded now and I wouldn't want to go back. My family brings me the most happiness - that said there is a good arguement for making sure you can meet your commitment to your children before you have them.

I'm telling lies from the stage
by DannyBloem ini recently gave a public talk, and i really felt bad about it.. it was the public talk about the great flood of noahs days.
the is so much evidence that this great deluge never happened, but that is something you can't tell the audience from the stage.
(i will tell about that evidence if people are interested, but it is a bit off-topic now).
