I don't think any one of you has ever objected to Tammy's teaching that people are forgiven and saved by being nice to people who are in the covenant.
why the shift in policy if it's a GB that teaches it?

the one question that is absolutely unanswerable by jehovah's witnesses that actually understand their own doctrines is this:.
can you show me even one new testament scripture that shows how a person can get their sins forgiven while outside of the new covenant?.
most of us are familiar with the one proof scripture that has all the necessary elements tied together into one neat doctrine - matther 26: 27,28:.

in context of john 4, the love of god is manifest in that he has sent his only begotten son into the world, that we might live through him.. my questions are:.
where is there any hint of love that would justify the killing of animals for sacrifice, then.
leading to a human sacrifice?.
dear Tammy...
you said: " Death entered through Adam... Life comes through Christ."...
actually sin and death entered the world through adam...covering of sin is with the blood of Jesus Christ and life is through (the resurrection of) His flesh.
that is why as I had tried to explain to you before, we are to partake of the wine AND the bread.

is there anybody harder to deal with than hardcore and old-fashioned persons confirmed in their own ways?.
even though these people know times, customs and laws have passed them by and younger folk don't think and act the old ways --they hold the old views, prejudices and disproved stereotypes as absolutely correct anyway!.
think about how stubborn people can be and how impossible it is to get along with them--especially if you cross them, offend them or incite them unnecessarily!.
(A quick aside)
"It was not something for us to worry about today because we are long past offending Jews. "
ummm...us who, Terry?
the account deals with gentile christians offending jewish christians, not athiests and agnostics offending jews.
if you think about it, now a days it's you who are offended...

in my 50+ years as a jw i have never been aware of them ever having a campaign.
concentrating on distributing bibles.
their "preaching" is totally about their own.
The bible does feed those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. It is spiritual food. I think the problem is, though, many people including the JW's look into it (as a mirror) and then they walk away... People forget that God and all the saints are looking on. If the law is about what you do...exodus 19:8 how much more when the Spirit of God is within?...ezekiel 36:22-26..."I will put My spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgements and do them."
malachi 3:16-18

now i want all to add whatever they want to.
i was just reading the bible reading for tonights meeting and started 2 cor 12...and what i noticed was that paul here is revealing something, a revelation or vision of sorts, here it says (and its from the nwt for lurkers).
12 i have to boast.
The bible does say that the people will be gathering up weapons. I think that more than anything that activity will be a sober reminder of where we came from in contrast to where we "are".
the earth is able to cleanse itself if given the chance. God is able to and indeed will bring this planet back from the mess we've made of it. I do think that many current resourses will still be used in the new earth but with a clear view as to better management because the motives to provide for people will not be based on money and profit.
the men working tirelessly at the fukushima nuclear plant have more environmental conscience than a litterbug.

dear Cold Steel...
you said, "
What really gets me are the expectations of some of the leaders that people will have to work in Paradise Earth. They'll have to build their homes, plant their own crops. Yeah, I know there won't be any horrible heat or any weeds or noxious plants (except for poison ivy...God's got to leave one reminder not to screw up again). But still."...
It's possible that the JW's and others get the idea that they will be planting and building from Isaiah 65:21-22...the consummation and planned purpose of God for His people.

i have reached a frontier dreamt about as a child -- the outer reaches of a vast realm under stars.. though an imaginative and inquisitive lad, my forward-looking mind and open heart could never have conjured up this fabulous, this infinite unreality into which i have been catapulted.
what may appear a distortion of my former reality i tentatively accept as a cosmic tableau that threatens both to fascinate and crush my frail, puny body and spirit.
i am unable to comprehend what i gaze upon with frightened, delicious terror.. my recent escape from lunaria was of sheer necessity: my people have been overtaken by a scorpion race of alien malefactors whose intent toward us was not one of beneficient intervention but that of conquest.
Set me as a seal upon your heart,
As a seal upon your arm;
For love is as strong as death,
Jealousy as severe as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire,
A most vehement flame...
so was it all just a new bible release or was there any doctrine changes, etc?
.
Acts 17:21...
..specifically, the suffering of animals.
you can talk about free will/sin/people choosing to not listen to god etc to explain human suffering being allowed.. but how can you love a god that allows animals, that haven't sinned or chosen to not have anything to do with god, to have their short lives ended in often long, drawn out, painful ways.
i could list stories i've read that would probably make you feel ill, but i'm not looking to shock anyone or start an emotional debate.
dear Tammy...
adam and eve were created with the ability to sin but being created in God's image they were created with the inclination to NOT sin. (eve's first temptation came from outside it wasn't something that she generated. Just like Jesus, the temptation came from outside (satan) it wasn't something that He generated.) After they were sent out of the garden all of their offspring were born with the inclination to sin.
That's why God could say in the days of Noah, that every inclination of the heart of man was towards evil.

Jesus said that to even look at a woman with lust is adultery.
Jesus said to even hate an enemy is murder.
Jesus is perfect.
God is perfect.
God can not be tempted by evil. In all things Jesus was tempted but He did not sin.
satan called eve over to contemplate the tree that she hadn't given any thought to before...
wouldn't that make the sin in the garden the ACT of contemplating or mulling over whether or not to eat?...the actual eating of the fruit wasn't the sin.
the tree didn't grow death fruit as tammy maintains, therefore eating the fruit wasn't how death entered into the couple. Sin entered the couple and they were no longer allowed access to the tree of life and were cast out of the garden. sin entered "the world" at that time and as a consequence of not having access to the tree of life...so did death.
