I do not wish to be accused of picking apart your post, however, I am going to address your question.

What other reason on this planet would a father be telling his fully matured daughter to drop her pants so he can beat her--------If he had no "sexual intent"?????

I will answer this way: What other reason on this planet would a father be telling his six year old daughter to drop her pants so he can beat her, if he had no 'sexual intent"?

That is why sexual abuse needs to be defined as clear as possible with acts and not just the age of the victim and how the victim felt.

I agree with you whole heartedly that NO CHILD should ever be subjected to such a depraved and humiliating physical abuse. Abuse with which I am all too familiar (and that's ALL I am going to say about that).

I feel it was a huge violation in my personal space and the feelings I experienced (which I hadn't felt in a long time since I locked them away) I can not put into words and hope you don't or can't relate to these feelings.

I can probably relate to most of them.

I hope you find healing.

Sexual abuse?

Of that I am not so sure. Physical abuse that was also terribly humiliating, of that I am sure. I'm so very sorry about what you have been through, Jesika. Please know that.

It seems to me that the bar continues to be raised as to what sexual abuse is and can be. This can be very dangerous. Is it merely based on the appearance, age, and development of a child? So, beating a naked six year old is not sexual abuse? How would one know unless the prepetrator aknowledged sexual intent?

And yes, I understand where you are coming from, Jesika. I just cannot share why that is on this forum. Of course it wasn't right and of course it wasn't your fault, but think I have to disagree with your therapist on this one.

i've been in quite a few, but have never placed first despite the fact that i can usually wow an audience.

the thing is, i've mostly seen women win these things.

I think I may have ADD. Now, I've heard some people say that ADD doesn't exist, that it is simply a behavioral problem and nothing more. Maybe. But, whether the problem is truly neuro-chemical in nature or simply due to social constraints and outlook that doesn't change the fact that it is a problem, now does it?

Count me in as one of those that was an absolute skeptic regarding ADHD/ADD. I think I even posted such in this forum. Especially, when it came to medicating the "symptoms".

It's a complicated story, but my 12 year old daughter has been diagnosed with ADHD-combination type (both hyper-active and inattentive). And it looks like my son also has it. My daughter has a very complicated medical history so there were many things that had to be ruled out first. (i.e., brain injury from chemotherapy due to cancer treatment). It tends to run in families that have a high amount of depression, alcoholism, and drug abuse.

ADD or ADHD symptoms generally are evident from childhood because it is a brain disorder. So, I don't think adults can "develop" it. But, don't quote me on that. I'm still learning all that I can about it. Generally, someone with ADHD can become depressed because they have such difficulty functioning in life. But, depression is not the core problem. It's a result of untreated ADHD.

The diagnosing of ADD/ADHD is not a exact science. I would find someone who is extremely experienced in diagnosing and treating this disorder. They, most likely, would be able to determine whether or not you do, indeed, have it.

The above quote is a bit extreme if you ask me. Maybe I'm naive, but when you marry an NBA player or any other high profile person who travels the country and is surrounded by beautiful young women constantly, do you really, honestly think he'll be faithful? I seriously doubt his wife was that delusional. So, if you think a man deserves to go to prison for cheating on his wife ( that 1. most likely knew he was cheating and 2. might have been cheating herself) well, I think that's a bit too much.

His wife was 16, a child, when she started dating him. I'm sure she was dazzled by the his fame and wealth. Kobe has been coddled and babied by his Moma all his life. His family threw a major fit when they found out he intended to marry her, mainly because she was uncultured and not black, and didn't speak until his baby was born.

Anyway, if you read anything about his upbringing, Kobe is very socially inept. He was raised in Italy and when he moved here he had no idea about social customs or how to act. Any woman that with any adult life experience probably would not have put up him.

Sorry, I can't turn off the highlight.

I almost got slugged - not sure what to do next

i play soccer in an over-30 rec league on sundays.. last sunday the team we were playing had this dude that was playing very aggressively, yelling at the refs, his team, our team, the ball, etc.

generally making what should have been an enjoyable time for all into a tense occasion.. he's one of those 5'3" guys with a bad temper and a motor that runs at 200 mph, a napoleon type.. anyways, near the end of the game (we're up 2-0 at this point) he is trying to get the ball away from one of my teammates, a guy about twice his size.

and for the umpteenth time during the game he goes sprawling to the ground and cries foul.. as me and my teammate (the one who napoleon just tangled with) are running up the field, i decided to open a can of smartass, so i ran up to my teammate, made very slight contact with him, and did a big comical trip and fall to the ground.

Teenagers ref'ing a game with adult players? No wonder this guy is over the top. And no wonder nothing has been done about him. Plus, he has Daddy's connections.

I have ref'ed a few game for ten year old boys and I maded it clear to the parents if they, or their children, start to act up, they are out of there.

Men like him have, what I like to call, "Banty Rooster Disorder". A Banty rooster is a small breed of chicken that can be very aggressive. The roosters are always looking to fight. My friend calls it "Short Man's Syndrome". For what they lack in height, they attempt to make up for in just being a obnoxious creten.

Sounds like this guy needs a good thumpin. However, I can understand you not wanting to tangle with this moron.

I would play, but not intentionally provoke this guy. It can make you look like an as*hole.

What is it about soccer that brings out the worst in people. My daughter played for four years. And I coached for two. The things I saw and this was at little girl's games. Some people just completely lose prespective on what is important. To me, it's rather pathetic. When my team would lose a game (which was rare) I would remind them that next year they wouldn't even remember the game, let alone losing.

Scully, as always, has some really great ideas. The videotape one should be considered seriously.

A co-worker of mine just nailed some neighbor woman for abusing her kids because she was able to secretly videotape it when the creep threw huge rocks at them in the woman's front yard, knocking the kids down. A picture is worth a thousand words.

I don't think I need to remind you, that if you vote for Tom, you are voting for Davis or Bustamante. I do think that Tom would make an excellent governor, but he cannot and will not win. Do you really want to take a chance with Davis or Bustamante.

No, I am voting for who I think is best for the job and I made no mention of who exactly I thought it was/is. And please don't attempt to brow beat me with my voting for one is voting for another. I'm a daughter of a former politician and know the games, and have been behind the scenes at campaigns.

And the rumors of Arnold's creepy behavior have been floating around for years. Someone just finally made them public and didn't strike me as suprising. His public persona is one of being such a "nice" likable guy. I'm not one to be impressed by an individual's press, especially those most concerned with "image" i.e., Hollywood actors.

Sacramento, right now, is polarized to nearly a standstill. Since it does look like Arnold is probably going to win, he needs to think less about what "he" plans to do (What is that exactly, anyway? Oh, yeah, he hasn't said yet, just that we "need" to do it) he better get his butt in gear and start soothing the bad feelings in the assembly and senate (the people that make and pass the laws). Until that is dealt with, all the terminator preening in the world won't get us out of this mess.

i can understand how this child felt.

it is really sad, his mom could of cleaned up and helped him more.

if cleaning was and issue .. perhaps she could have hired help, asked for volunteers etc.. .

I work at an elementary school, and a tough one at that, and I make no bones to those kids that I will absolutely make the roof fall in on their heads if they even attempt to bully, tease, or beat-up anyone and I find out about it. I will not tolerate that sort of behavior on my watch.

My daughter has been bullied a couple of times, and I made it clear to the school that I would make MT. ST. Helen's eruption look like a pimple popped if she was ever bothered by the same kid again.

A boy I went to high school with blew his head off with a revolver because of kids bullying him until he just couldn't take it anymore.

How very tragic this whole situation
