  Do The WTB&TS Really Believe They Have Truth?

  or are they just stringing the rank and file along, getting every ounce of work out of thier constituents, long enough to pull the next rabbit out of the hat?

  those at the top, don't they see where they've made mistakes?

  how can they continue in good conscience before the god they profess to serve?

  I think that a small handful of the GB really do believe it all (the oldest and most ignorant ones). But I honestly think that youngest GB members know that its all bunk. Its likely that nearly all of the rest in the highest echelons know this too.

  They keep the GB and the whole FDS ideas around only so that they can exert control over the rank and file and to exploit them. Many of those in higher ranks initially learn to work with the dissonance because its an alright lifestyle for them. They eventually are so calloused that they see nothing wrong with using others. I believe that a small but powerful portion of those running the ops were always manipulative parasites and knew opportunities when they saw them.

  Nothing of the sort has been posted or even read at the Southwestern Ontario congregation I'm officially assigned to....but the BOE in that particular congregation are always behind when sharing letters etc.

  If no one else can confirm this and I eventually hear about it, I'll let you all know.

  New Evolution Book....

  i'm wondering why no new evolution book has come out since the last one.

  i mean that was in the early 80's if i remember correctly and there's so much new information about homo erectus, neandertal and various other forms of human life before (or during if you want to get picky) modern homo sapien existence.

  i think it would be really fun to see what type of arguments would be made now, obviously the original evolution book can be pretty easily debunked by current studies, i'm just curious what would be found more recently to combat the evil evolution myth.

  There's just so much strong genomic evidence coming in all the time, that I doubt the WTS' writers will ever be able to credibly question descent with modification again. I've never heard a peep on the interesting study comparing the mtDNA of Neandertals and Moderns for example.

  The Society had to rip off most of their arguments from other creationists in the past. They'll do the same again. I figure they'll really only be able to make the most of all the unanswered quesions in abiogenesis to cast doubts on evolution even having something to work on. And by so doing, bolster the seeming rationality of their special creation scenario.

  I think they do exist somewhere out there in our vast universe/multiverse. Whether they've actually buzzed around our skies and have been probing peeps is debatable. A very small proportion of sightings ( 5%? ) are unexplained. Some of those likely are secret experimental craft.

  I've never seen a UFO or an EBE (Extraterrestrial Biological Entity - for the person who asked) but would love to ... as long as their all cute and ET "phone home" like.

  i'm an 18 year old girl, i started studying with the jws 9 months ago.

  i was dating a guy that was a jw and i chose that i also wanted to study.

  we were together for 2 years and broke up four months ago.

  Hi Lazluli,

  I hope you'll heal quickly over this break. Better to have happened now though, than shortly after getting married.

  As for having doubting the "Truth" or not, most of us here have gone through this, and I agree with so many other posters here. I encourage you to research the history of their teachings thouroughly. Note the kinds of changes made. Look at how they quote (selectively? misquote?) other sources. Then decide for yourself. Don't be afraid to ask anything on this board. There are some very knowledgable people here who can give you alot of useful info.

  According to a letter read during the local announcements, they are now going to have the graphics people (those who prepare and proof the photos, illustrations etc to be used in the pubs) along with the printing facilities at Wallkill to "streamline" operations.

  In Canada, they've had some Hantscho presses put into Bethel and they sold off the machinery they were using before to an outside company (they didn't give any names or figures though).

  the domain "watchtower.ca" has been transferred to wts (i assume they will have it pointing to borg.org watchtower.org asap).

  my copies of the site have been destroyed, the files deleted, and my wt library cd has been destroyed, in accordance with the settlement agreement which will afford a "discontinuance" of their suit against me.

  Scarce at the kingdom hall

  i heard that it was scarce at the kingdom hall last thursday night.

  the speaker was asking those in attendance to look around and see who was missing and to call them and encourage them to come back to the meetings.

  The circuit assembly today in London, Ontario only had an attendance of around 500 in the morning and then about 600 in the afternoon. It used to be higher 780 to 800+.
