  he tells me he knows of my possesssion of the flock book.

  he knows of my involvement on this site.

  That info needs to be made known. If anyone else can gain access to another book showing those same/similar marginal notes then please please please photocopy them (or use a film camera). We're talking about proof positive of little care the WTS has for its flock....the children and lets also not forget about the elders it has running the show for them in the individual congregations (personally I say those idiots who follow those directions deserve any charges they may get for going along with it). How can anyone question the ethics and morality of getting this out there? I think some people would change their tune if there children (God forbid) were ever even just exposed to possible danger from elders/ministerial servants who have had their history of pedophilia covered-up? What did the CO say more than one? "Don't say anything that'll implicate the WTS' legal dept" Yeah we can see all they care about.

  weird comment from a MS to me....

  a few weeks ago we were cleaning the hall and one of the ministerial servants that is in my cbs made what i thought was a weird comment to me.......... what is your take?

  " so he repeats "thanks for your help" ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he was not even in charge of the cleaning(we all know what needs to be done), actually no one was, but the bs overseer was there and helping also.

  so i quip back "oh ok,yeah, and thanks for your help mr. young ms" maybe i am taking it the wrong way but it wasn't even his assignment to get done, it was the whole bookstudy's and then it was the elders job to make sure we did not screw it up.............................me ...................................................sorry , having trouble with the formatting... .

  I don't think he was acting like he was in charge. In almost every group I've been in, most of the dubs come up with excuses to avoid cleaning....so it was usually us same 4 suckers who'd clean the whole hall. (Spring and fall cleanup were even worse --- less than a dozen people show between 3 congregations)

  I agree with Nina, and I'd say he was showing his gratitude for your actually coming.

  Council of Nicaea / Arius / Constantine and the Bible

  i've been reading up on the constantine's involvement in the compilation of the bible at the council of nicaea.

  as well as the ousting of arius because of his "controversial" beliefs.

  it's been many years since i've read any watchtower literature...anyone know what the jw's believe / teach / preach regarding this subject.

  February 15th Study Article on "New light"

  when i read this for the first time yesterday, of course to quickly underline my wt for the meeting so the "personal study police" (po and another elder) couldnt say that they didnt see mine underlined, i noticed that the generation change was not spoken of in the article at all.

  in fact they completeltely ignore it while mentioning other minor changes.

  this was one of the most significant doctrinal changes in wts history and they never even alluded to it in the article.

  I'd say the generation change wasn't included because the higher ups know its a very sore point for many of the dubs. (Born out by the decreased "zeal" and the "lack of urgency" of the rank and file)

  I didn't have the guts to bring up the generation change, but an elder did though. And this is with the CO being around to boot.

  He was saying how that was one "adjustment that bugged him at first" (there was some laughing from the audience here -- with a sort of restrained/unsure tone to it). Then he continued on about how it makes more sense, we're serving with more pure motives ...blah blah blah.

  Just finished Crisis of Conscience (first time), now I understand why...

  i have just completed crisis of conscience.

  now i understand why my father, the co, the wts and every other elder who came to my home asked if i had read the book.. i had not.

  however, the argumentation stylesup to and including the focus in my letters on the paired issues of candor and humilityas well as the bulk of the scriptures used by brother franz and others were present in my letters.. this shows their hubris to an even greater degree.

  I have to say that until I read CoC, I really didn't feel any contempt or bitterness towards the WTS. But then I was hit hard by the double standard with Mexico and Malawi. Was African blood somehow less precious? Or was it that they stood to gain more financially by letting things slide for the mexicans? That just made it all fall down for me. The GB weren't just deluded fools, that were in denial but sincere about their supposed truth. They are power mongers interested only in satiating their craving for self agrandizing. They're heartless leeches that have gotten bloated on the blood of the poor people they've deluded and destroyed. I would love to see the day they in turn burst.

  I can tell you first hand that here in Canada, nearly all dubs are aware that the old view of 7000 years per creative day has been dropped for the unspecified "thousands of years".

  Its definitely in the reasoning book (ohmygod!, has it been 2 decades?!!).

  Does the Memorial™ generate BIG $ for the WTS?

  i'd never before thought of this angle for the memorial.

  it makes sense though: they get people who have become inactive making an extra effort to show up and maybe donating some "guilt money" to make up for having missed a few months' worth of meetings.

  they invite worldly people who perhaps take it for granted that when you go to "church" you drop something in the collection plate, and just automatically drop an offering in the contribution box.

  For the very short stint I did the accounts, there was a bit of an increase on that night in actual amounts donated. But if you compare (contributions)/(# of people) on that night with the average for the month, it was more often than not the same or even a little less.

  Now that is really a story I have never heard!

  Its from one of the additions to Daniel that you find in many catholic bibles. Daniel plays the position of defense attorney and wins by showing how the two accusers didn't have their stories straight. The other story was cool with how Danny fed a dragon with some concoction that blew it up. I kid you not.

  I have this really crazy idea, please help ( nope not fluff)

  for a really long time i have believed that there is no such thing as god.

  last night i had a talk with someone and this one idea came to me, what if there is a god, but he is not perfect, and where did this idea of god=perfect come from?

  is there any scipture that says god is perfect?

  A professor I worked with for a little while (as a TA for his courses) was interested in viral vectors for gene therapy too. Most of his students were working with a variant of BAV ...can't recall if it was BAV1 or BAV2 though. What virus are you working with?
