My daughter and her grandparents

since i talked to my father after my disfellowshipping and he hung up on me, i haven't talked to my mom or dad.

last month when we were in ontario i talked to my uncle and aunts about how my parents are treating us (shunning) and we got a lot of support from them, and they can't understand why my mom and dad would treat us like that.

anyway, my 7 year old daughter overheard the conversations, even though i was trying to keep the situation away from her as i don't think a child really needs to know all the details of the situation.. on the drive home out of the blue my daughter says she wants to call my parents, so we ask why?

After much discussion, Mrs Kwin and I decided to take our kids to counsilling. We have the initial visit Saturday morning and work out an action plan. We think it's the best course of action for right now.

SHOULD JWS STUDY THE SHARE OWNERSHIP OF COMPANIES?

recently the coe has been embroiled in a row about the fact that one of its the companies it has invested in is partly owned by a company that makes arms.. should a true christian(tm) investigate a company background so he doesn't violate christian neutrality?.

Whats the worst dish you ever served???

i am a reasonable cook when i can be bothered (as paulj will hopefully confirm) but often resort to quick and easy methods, packet mixes, tins etc.. whereas my parner is a brilliant cook!!

leave him in the kitchen for a little while and he produces something from scratch that is delicious.

so today i decided to extend my culinary skills!

I was 19 or 20 and had some friends over for supper. I made a stir fry. I failed to realize though how hot the peppers where that I put in. I think I put 4 or 5 of them in. It was hot! But everyone ate it.

That was the first time though, that something I had eaten burned on the way out as well, and I wasn't the only one who experienced that either.

every now and then, someone posts something that exposes their gut reaction to something, which could be completely opposite to a position previously taken, or taken immediately after posting it.

Every now and then, someone posts something that exposes their gut reaction to something, which could be completely opposite to a position previously taken, or taken immediately after posting it. Should we "pounce" on that gut reflex, quietly bring it to their attention for quiet or private discussion, or ignore it and let them sit with them thinking perhaps no one noticed? Perhaps they don't notice themselves though, or at least didn't notice it was a gut reflex.

I've been reading recently Steve Hassan's book, "Releasing the Bonds" and it briefly discusses that "gut reaction" when people are entering a cult. Talking to Mrs Kwin, when she joined the JW's her gut was telling her "No." but she chalked it up to nerves. I wonder how many others are getting that same gut reflex right now?

is it just me or are more people using the word "absolutely" far more than needed?.

the other day i was at a store and the guy said "absolutely" several times in his pitch.

i've heard people use the word several times in recent television shows and this morning on the news i heard it three more times.. .

i would like to come out for the jazz fest while on my way out to visit the east coast crew.

Hey Tet. Maybe we could meet in Montreal on your way out east and make the rest of the trip together. I'd love to go to the Jazz fest! We have one here, but I'm sure it's not as good as the Montreal one.

BTW, our door is always open to visitors!

what would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.

would you have became his follower?

how about after he left the earth and christianity began to spread by means of the apostles, would you have been involved in the many congregations that were started throughout the area?
