  How "Strict" was the mentality in your congregation?

  like i said earlier on another thread, in the late 80's in my congregation, a brother could not shake the hand of a sister entering the hall.

  no touching !!!.

  i also recall going out in the field service and it was cold, like -20c, and i went to a ms house just to say hi, and i saw his wife waiting in front of her house for a lift to go out in the field service.

  It depended on if the elders had a wild hare up their rear. Occasionally the lynch squad would come out, and look at me with a microscope. I wasn't good at being a yes man.

  i wonder if they are moving investments into non us$ denominated instruments?.

  the us$ is now in the 77 range as measured by the usdx (us$ index) .this is a record low.

  Life is sweet

  got my truck back.. it was best-case, in the neighborhood of $2000, rather than the worst-case of $3000 or catastrophic-case $6000.. head gaskets.. bad, i know, but it could have been cracked heads, or worse.. i paid my peasly little two grand and that aposta-truck roared to life!

  it's gleaming smugly outside my garage right now.. life is sweet, i got my truck back.. helped my daughter build a 'model' for her piano technician classes, a board with hitch pins on one end, and tuning pins on the other, a bridge in between (with bridge pins) and a string.. basically a model of a set of three piano strings for one note in a simulation of the stuff that mounts it in a real piano.. i love woodworking, and i love making things.

  40 Years Ago Today.....

  i was putting the finishing touches on my wedding plans for tomorrow!

  we were married by a j.p. in a country home with a beatiful braided rug, rustic furniture and a big fireplace.

  we couldn't afford a honeymoon .

  i kinda did a terry yesterday, i just quit my job, with two weeks notice, but without having another job lined up.. i did go on an interview yesterday at a furniture design store in little rock.. i posted this april 7th of 05 at this board.....topic wt and awakes.

  Sexless Marriages Could Threre Be a Direct Link by Being Raised JW?

  i would like start by saying i having been married twice.

  the first time i married a girl who was also raised a jw, sex was great when we first got married but after a couple of years it almost completely stopped.

  the marriage did not last much longer i thought it was because we just grew apart and i became uninterested.
