  Remember Elie in the Bible? He,as high priest, allowed the ark of the covenant to be taken out into battle, where the Philistines captured it, and the Israelites fled. This is what it says about him: (from NASB

  1Sa 4:15 Now Eli was ninety-eight years old, and his eyes were set so that he could not see.
  1Sa 4:16 The man said to Eli, "I am the one who came from the battle line. Indeed, I escaped from the battle line today." And he said, "How did things go, my son ?"
  1Sa 4:17 Then the one who brought the news replied , "Israel has fled before the Philistines and there has also been a great slaughter among the people , and your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been taken."
  1Sa 4:18 When he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell off the seat backward beside the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for he was old and heavy. Thus he judged Israel forty years.

  Here we see that it speaks of him as ninety eight years old, and his eyes set, physically and figuratively (because of his foolishness), and he was old and heavy. So we see the writer of the book of Samuel pointing out physical defects. What difference is there in saying some old geezers, have indigestion, lost their teeth and sleep in senility during gb meetings?

  The GB has gone the way of Eli. Today they have allowed, through foolish decisions, to allow true worship to be captured in the hands of Philistines, figuratively speaking. They are supporting child abusers within the organization to the detriment of the victims. We may yet see them collectively fall over backwards and their people flee in dismay.

  Now if you wish, I could go on with other examples. Ole King David, for example, his subordinates providing a beautiful virgin to keep him warm his old age.

  Comforter, you want to provide a virgin to comfort the last days of these buggers?

  i got a couple of lurkers emailing to me at the moment!.

  anyway.... one of them has a question and we need the input of a boffin like alan f, or jt.. elderly lady, just got df,after 40 years of service, wants to know, now shes df, will the org still take her money that shes bequeathed to them in her will.?.

  does she need to change her will to prevent the org from gettings its clammy claws on her bucks.?.

  The WT will have no qualms about taking your money.

  They consider disfellowshipping as, not punishment, but discipline.

  They say they do not punish any one for reporting child abusers to the police. No, they discipline and make every effort to draw them back into the fold, or so they say.

  Also if you don't change your will, they will deem it, that you still had a soft spot in your heart for Jah, and you [b]really, really, deep down in your heart wanted them to have it.

  the gb has recently taken a back seat to 3 new corporations.

  these were added to the multitude of corps they already have.

  Does the legal dept. pay its own way by getting court costs from court cases?

  Recently, comments made by some in this country have focused attention on the way some faithful pioneers and devoted publishers, who share in the Kingdom hope with right-hearted ones, regarding their availing themselves of financial benefits provided by the modern day Egyptians. The spirit-directed Faithful and Discreet Slave wish to remind those discrediting Jehovah’s happy and prosperous earthly organization that these faithful workers in Jah’s vineyard are following the Bible’s clear direction. Sincere students of the Scriptures acknowledge the strong Bible based policy foreshadowed by the words of Exd 12:35

  Now the sons of Israel had done according to the word of Moses, for they had requested from the Egyptians articles of silver and articles of gold, and clothing;
  Exd 12:36 and the LORD had given the people favor in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they let them have their request. Thus they PLUNDERED the Egyptians.

  Faithful ones realize that Jehovah advocates : Theocratic plundering of the resources of Satan in order to finance the world wide work of proclaiming His good news.

  Yes, there is no doubt about it: Happy is the people whose God is Jehovah!

  Prior to the Internet it was difficult but not impossible to develop statistics on JW social ills. With the Internet providing a virtual meeting place for Apostates to compare notes and to assemble their observations and experiences, a more accurate picture of the society of the Society has emerged, has come into sharp focus. And the picture that resolves is a sad one indeed.

  I agree with this statement above. Loud and clear. I came out long before the Internet and it was very very difficult to find others with whom to communicate. All friends and contacts were cut off. For about fifteen years, may wife and I could communicate with no one

  With the Internet, a raging fire has started that is ravaging the grain fields of the WT. But this conflagration has not only brought into focus for the exJWs a more accurate picture of what is going on. Witnesses and their leaders themselves are seeing the sorry and sad state of affairs within their ranks. that was not clearly evident before.

  The WT operates with extreme secrecy, all documents and statistics are classified. Reports of DO’s and CO’s are filtered through rose colored glasses. There is an idolatrous worship of the organisation, and those bringing in the information , bring only the fruits and flowers, and minimize the crap. Congregations, Branches, and even the organization at Brooklyn are all compartmentalized one area from another. No one has an accurate whole picture of what is going on.

  Any statistics published from Brooklyn are sanitized, stripped of any meaningful details. eg: So many thousands have fallen away ......blah blah blah. The cries of pain, of sorrow, of boredom, unhappiness, abuse, you name it, are not collectively heard within the isolated walls of Brooklyn, and are also silenced within the congregations, even to the point to relegating the distress and cries of infants to the ‘rest’ rooms.

  GET THIS PEOPLE,! THE CRY OF A CHILD IS MORE IMPORTANT AND CARRIES MORE WEIGHT IN THE UNIVERSE THAN ANY WORDS DELIVERED BY SOME SMOOTH TALKING, SUIT AND TIED MOUTHPIECE LEANING ON A PODIUM.

  So now the loud collective cry of pain is reaching the crescendo, and no one, within or without can be oblivious to the roar, and shut it out from their ears.

  Watchtower dissolves congregations?

  i have heard this from jws many times.

  they say that when the whole congregation is corrupt it is clearly noticable that jehovah's spirit is not with them.

  eventually if the whole congregation is corrupt the gb dissolves the whole congregation.. jws say this as if it were from personal experience.

  Not only congregations are dissolved. There was a branch office in the Caribbean or Central America back in NH Knorr's day. Trouble arose withing the branch and also amongst all the publishers in the country. In a case like that what the Society, Pappy Knorr did, was send in a new crew, appoint a new branch servant and a few other missionaries and send them in the country. The Society will only deal with them, all correspondence literature etc. goes throught the new nucleous.

  The publishers who want to stay in the org. must knuckle down under the new branch. Anyone who does not come are left out in the cold.

  Cold, hard policy, no mercy, individuality was sacrificed, even if one had legitimate concerns.

  Do You Really Want Reform, Or...

  ...do you want an end to the entire organization of jehovah's witnesses?.

  i'm guessing there is so much money involved, we couldn't hope to see an end to them, but that's what needs to happen imho.

  after all, jim and tammy faye bakker had lots of money associated with their church, and a theme park complete with hotels to boot and they're all gone.

  The life of individuals and collective groups and organizations could go either way. Ninevah, collectively reformed, its ways that were leading to destruction, turned around 180 degrees. So in one way the Ninevah that was, was destroyed and a new Ninevah arose.

  Contrast this with Jerusalem after Jesus. They clung to their city, God's Holy City of Peace til it was levelled to the ground. The message had been announced for forty years. When you see the City of Peace, infiltrated and surrounded by encamped armies, within the city and without then get to hell out, immediately.
  The WT today are under siege, within and without. Defenses, damage control, bulwarks are constantly manoevred into place to maintain their glorious holy organization of Jehovah.

  I stuggled out of her, was finally booted out over thirty years ago.
  In those days one could walk away without too much difficulty. Now I see, even in the post a few above this one, how difficult it is to leave.

  So the message keeps being hammered out. Safety is only within the walls of Jehovah's earthly organization. But an opposing message is also being heard, GET TO HELL OUT, NOW! It's going to get harder and harder to get out later.

  It is an individual thing, no one can decide for another, the split takes place, between friends, between brothers, between man and wife.

  Who knows which way a person or the collective will go?

  Read Josephus, The destruction of Jerusalem. It's on the internet, and compare it to what is going on today with the WT. Fanatics ruled then, fanatics also rule today.

  Advice needed- please help!

  yesterday i received a surprise phone call from my jw friend.

  we met up and uhhh, it was quite the mind-blowing event.

  i can't believe it.

  Just be there for him, allow him the space, for the both of you it is a dance, let him lead. Be sensitive to his moves, he goes left you match his movements, he goes right, so do you.

  The fact he called you, and you met and discussed what was on his mind shows that he is relying and searching and needs something from you. So just be there for him, and supply him with his needs.

  My wife just got off the phone with her JW mother 3000 miles away with their regular weekly call. Last week she informed her that a program (dateline) was coming up, a program about JWs. The mother said she would watch it.

  This week, my wife did not say a word about it. She senses that her mother watched it, she was uneasy, almost irritable. The mother never said a word about it, my wife just was her usual self, just discussing other interesting news with her. Silence, speaks louder than words.
