I wonder if the brother cleared this before agreeing to participate. Anyone know his position in the org? Of course if the Society allowed his appearance they can always "cancel" it now that it's public knowledge.

Did they overlook you?
by JH inwith all the talking about visiting inactive ones, i wonder how many inactive people have not been visited yet?
if you weren't visited yet, could it be because they df'd you, and you don't know about it?

I'm still waiting. I see an Elder in the street about once a week but no call.

Lost My Job
by Yizuman innew manager named rod came in at wal-mart this week monday.
today he got a call from marsh's office building asking for business references and apparently that pissed him off.
i had dropped off a resume at the marsh office building around 1 1/2 weeks ago or so... he called me into his office via one of the customer service manager (csm) who asked me to follow her.

Yizuman, you may consider speaking with an attorney specializing in unlawful terminations. What Rod may have said to the Marsh people may prove a problem to him and Wal-Mart. A follow up phone call to the companies you've left a resume with be helpful as well. All the best.

Help the Elders are after me!!!!!!!!
by auntiem inokay, an elder just showed up at my doorstep and he was wearing sweat suit and sweat pants and he was alone.
whats up with that?
is this a new tactic to get me to talk?

So an elder shows up in his sweat suit, you're in your PJ's with no one else at home and he wants to come in? Then he makes an appointment for 2-3 PM Friday? A letter to Brooklyn may be in order concerning his inappropriate advances.

I got a chuckle out of that a few years ago when I saw one of the Bethelite's ID card. It has to do with the vow of poverty they take when joining Bethel sort of like monks. Always amazing how the WT can do things like this when it's for their convenience.

How would you react if......
by Pleasuredome inthe wts turned out to be right and in the next couple of years the great tribulation broke out?
would you have a change of heart and think "yeah maybe the were right all along!"?
would you even consider joining them again?

In many of their depictions of imminent destruction, there are destructees looking defiant. I would just take my phone off the hook so the "I told you sos" couldn't gloat.

There is very little sense to DF or DAing mass numbers. If they do convince some to return, so what? They get the body but not the heart or mind. Who is behind this insanity?

How hard are the elders going to try?
by freedom96 inas we have all seen, the elders seem to be finding all the inactive, and trying to make us make a choice.
we are either for or against the wts, and they want us to tell them so they know what to do with us.. the question i have is, how hard are they trying to find us?
will it be a simple phone call on the card that was in file?

I see an Elder just about every week as I'm going to work, he's headed into FS. He just says hello. Sunday an Elder and his wife were on the other side of the street and he waved. No phone calls, no requests to visit. Maybe their trying to get their nerve up.

Come on! NOTHING is Going To Refrom the WT!
by D8TA inthis whole "reform" nonsense is driving me up the wall.. nothing is going to "reform" the wtbts.
nobody is going to "reform" the wtbts.. crying out loud, be realistic about this.
we have a group of men who have at least some faith & belief that what they do is "divinely" approved, and they have 6 million suckers who follow.

With the continued passing of time and the continued aging of its members along with the realization that Armageddon will probably not be in their lifetime something will have to give. There are many who would leave but due to being isolated from life (reality) are believing the "world" will swallow them up. Every passing day, month, year will cause doubt, fear, and eventually drive more and more out.

Colored Shirts?
by Marcos inwhat is the wt policy on shirts for the brothers?
are they supposed to be only white shirts?
my son, no a sort of waning mormon said that he thought it was funny that the witnesses here copy the mormons (white shirts only).

White shirts were a particular congregation's rule. I've heard some congregations required brothers to wear suits when giving talks in the KMS.
