I remember a brother borrowing $500 from my mom when I was little. I don't think they ever paid it back. My mom being the saint she is didn't worry about it and said that if she had it to lend then she had it to give. It just really bothered me that they owed my mom $500 and wouldn't pay it back, but could buy cars and motorcycles all the time.

New light in everyday life.
by zagor inmy sister had to borrow some money, around $500 from this brother which she was going to return of course.
but she was getting married, and dub said "well you dont have to return that money it is your wedding gift.
" needless to say she was really happy and drilled my mind about jw being good people.

The Iserealites in a sense worshiped the Ark of the Covenant. You weren't allow to touch it, it had magical powers and would kill you. They gave special reverence to the Ark and used it in worship of God. It was kept in the most holy of holies in the temple and only the high preist was allowed to see it. They would carry it into battle as a symbol of God's power. To me all of this points to idol worship. Even though God outlawed idol worship and destroyed whole nations for this reason. Sounds a little contradictory to me.

Name Some Trivial Things That Are Big Deals To JWs
by minimus inso many things come to mind to show how silly jws sound in reality.
for example, being allowed to pass the microphones is a big deal, especially to a young brother.
or being given the "privilege" of cutting the grass or working on a "quick-build" is really something special to a jw.

A friend and I ask a sister and her friend if they would like to play some basketball down the steet. Yeah I really liked her at the time. Here mom said no way. Not alone with two brothers. How can you be alone with four people on a public ball court?

by RichieRich inmy mom isnt a big fan of guns, but after being mugged once, she appreciates the value of a well placed firearm.
she doesn't mind that i hunt and go to the shooting range regularly with my father.

I've got a loaded 9mm in the beside stand. My wife and I both know how to use it and will if we have to. We live in a rural area and even if we called the police if someone was trying to bread in, it would take them a half an hour to get to our house. I have a concealed weapons permit but don't carry it much. You have to remember it's not the guns killing people, it the person pulling the trigger.
I've never understood the societies rule of not owning a pistol. Who else is going to protect my family from some nut case if not me. Certainly not a bunch of window washers.
I love the saying - "Gun Control" is hitting your target.

See this is what really bothers me about disfellowshipping people.
You are obviously very sorry for what you did. You admitted it and said you would never do it again. Why does it matter how long you did it or who knew. I know you went to God in prayer and ask for forgiveness. God can read your heart and tell that you are sorry. So why do you have to be punished so severly for a mistake. It just doesn't make sense. It seems as if the elders are more worried about how it will look on them and the congregation than if you are truly repentant or not. I know that God has forgiven you (if it was actually a sin and not some Watchtower rule) so why can't the organization. It just goes to show that this organization is not God's organization.
I wish you the best and remember, you've got your whole life in front of you. Take this time to open up your mind and explore the world.
