So let me get this straight
by TheICE ina web site called jehovah-witness.net where x-jw's and jw's who pretend to be jw's come to chat about how bad jehovah witnesses are and how they brain washed them etc, would it not be more productive to move on and forget than to let something most of you obviously hate take so much of your time and effort.. for some being a jw is about not being part of the world, what other religion is there that is as moral as a jw.
i am d'fed but i belive that jw's are the true religion.
sure some of them can be self righteous pricks but there imperfect just like anyone else,we all need to focus on us and not worry about what there doing because we can't change them.. .

I remember my best friends dad stating in the middle of the Witchtower study that he expected never to grow old. You could really tell he was fully convinced that he would never grow old. Everyone applauded.
That was twenty some years ago. I saw him last week.
Guess what - He's old.
Sometimes I would love to remind him of his statement but I'll just let him be happy in his ignorance.

*** g91 7/8 p. 13 Self-Defense—How Far Can a Christian Go? ***‘That is all well and good for owning firearms,’ someone may say. ‘But what about learning the martial arts for self-defense, such as judo, karate, and kendo?’ Ask yourself, is not the object of this instruction to fight or hurt others? And is not such training really equivalent to arming oneself lethally?
LMAO - This reasoning is so messed up. I teach karate and the first thing we tell everyone including the adults is that karate is for self-defense only. Never start a fight and walk away if possible.
These guys are stuck in their ivory tower and know nothing of real life. They just research life and try to tell everyone how to live it.

YOGA - is it "bad" or what?
by still_in74 inhelp me out.
i recall in the past that the reigns on yoga were eased off a bit but it seems now that the wts has declared it full-fledged demonism.. does anyone have any previous articles that connected the exercise/stretching aspect of yoga as something "acceptable" or a conscious decision?.

Man they are realy stretching it on this one. They had to go to two guys under the guidance of a guru to find a bad example. I've done Yoga. It's just a bunch of stretching and breathing excesises. No spiritual crap involved at all. The WTBS tries to find the bad in everything. Next they will say it's wrong to each chocolate because it releases the same chemicals in the brain as does sex. And we all know sex is bad.
Of course they probably wouldn't think much of me teaching karate now would they.

Just up a walked out one day. Decided it wasn't for me.
I guess the biggest thing was the lack of love I felt when I move to a new congr.
But the major thing that got me thinking was when I was at a wedding and the elder doing the service said that the wedding bans were pagan symbols but they didn't recognize them a pagan anymore. I thought "How can they do that and still call Christmas and birthdays pagan?". It was the beginning of the end for me.

I've been practicing karate for 3 1/2 years now. Next I want to start Ju-Jitsu. A friend teaches it about 40 min from my place. Hopefully I'll have time between teaching 2 classes myself.

My instructor spoke with me last night and want me to take over teaching class. He's going to split the profits with me at first and in about a year or so he is going to turn the dojo over to me. I've always wanted to teach. I love teaching the kids. I get allot of enjoyment see how proud they are when they learn a new kata and show it to their parents. The adult are fun as well. They learn faster and seem to appreciate it more.
Here's a pic of my instructor (left) and myself

I practice Shotokan Karate with the Ko Sutemi Seiei Kan Organization. We are a very family oriented organization.

It was a total surprise. I wasn't supposed to be promoted for another 4 months but my sensie thought I was ready. As we all lined up at the beginning of the belt test I was in front with the other brown belts. There must of been at least 30 other students of varying rank behind me. Then the Grandmaster stepped up and said that he had someone to bring up to blackbelt. I thought it was my friend Rick from another dojo that has been doing cage fighting as well as karate. He's a better fighter than me although he'll never admit it. Next thing I know the Grandmaster calls my name. I looked at my sensie and he was smiling from ear to ear. I step up and was shaking as he quietly explained what it meant to be a Blackbelt in our organization and how I will now be looked up to by my students and the community. Then he had me take off my brownbelt and he tied my blackbelt on me. After that everyone started calling me Sensie Taylor. Which still sounds strange. I think my sensie will have me take over the beginners class while he still teaches the advanced class which I will attend. You are never done learning.
If anyone out there is considering taking a martial art please give it a try. It's been one of the best things I've ever done for myself.
