Finding My Father (help)
by purplesofa inthanks to everyone that sent links to search for my father.. i have found a man with the same name, born in the same month and year, in a town next to where we lived the last i saw him.
there is an address and phone number connected with the name.
he is in florida.. the telephone number gives the name of the company the phone is listed with.. i can find the address on mapquest but do now know if this is a number for a business or residence.

Hi Purps, I just read your post. What I did a few years ago in trying to find my dad, was I wrote to old age pension. I asked them if they could contact him and forward my address to him and they did. Does your dad get any kind of pension through the government? If so, this may be a way to contact him. Or maybe write a letter to the company, in confidence of course, asking if they would be of any help. Just a thought purps, good luck in trying to find him. I wish you the best.

Gotta get this out today.

i may need to be on another forum, but i have come to respect the posts and input of so many here, and trust.....so it may be jumbled, and may take starting a few topics to fully get it out.. i have already posted about my youngest brother committing suicide.
i have another brother also.. my mother divorced my father i am guessing when i was five or six.

Purps, I am so sorry that you are going through all this. Like the others said, your mom is in denial. Please reach out for help like jnat suggested and pray lots for the answers. I admire you that you are trying to find a way to help your family. Stay strong and just do your best.

I agree with luna, it is very nice to see a single dad take on the responsibilty. In fact, I question a mans character, if he is not involved with his kids. And when you start dating, you will have a good understanding of the ups and downs of singleparenthood. Many men who date single moms, dont understand the bond that parents have with thier kids. Chances are you are going to meet a single mom yourself and you can go into the relationship with eyes wide open.
In a nutshell, thank God, you were able to step in and take care of your children. Kids need thier dad to just as much as they need thier mother.

Here I Sit In Calgary, AB...Depressed...
by exjdub in...because i am packing to leave calgary first thing in the morning.
we flew up from florida a week ago for my daughter's wedding and had the opportunity to explore calgary and to see the rockies.
breathtaking beauty and a ton of wildlife.

IW...the point is, is that a person should have the right to decide on their treatment without pressure from their religious organization. God is a God of love, and I do not believe for one minute, that he thinks we should go this far. Life if prescious, and we should do all we can to preserve it. I believe God gave man the gift to prolong life. If you think for one minute that Bethany's situation brought a 'good witness to Jehovah' you are wrong. Alot of people are turned off organized religion, just for these reasons exactly. And yes, I heard that Bethany was tied down and forced the transfusions. She felt bad and guilty only because she was mislead to believe that this was all bad. If the WTS would only stay out of peoples affairs and let them do what they need to do, then none of this would have happened. The WTS is very good at putting on restrictions and controls on its people, that I do not believe comes from God. Like I said, I believe God is a God of Love, and that is what I want to continue to believe.

i used to attend a congregation that housed the circuit overseer, he had an apartment on the bottom floor of the kingdom hall.
everything was provided for him, apartment, utilities, health insurance, meals, and get this - cable tv!!!

how true candy...I got the third degree and questions on how I might be misusing my money...raising 4 boys on my own...makes me mad just thinking about it.
