Are There Current JWs Who If They Became XJW's, You Still Wouldn't Trust?
by xjw_b12 in.
i was noticing, how the great majority who are fading, or are df or da, and post here, seem to go through a sincere personality change for the better.. it is of course a very humbling experience to find out how wrong and judgemental we were.. but is there a witness or two, who even if they posted here, you wouldn't trust them or like them.?

I use to say if we were magazine salesmen for a living,I'd starve.Used to feel guilty all time because I didn't have enough rv's,placements,no studies...you know, maybe I wasn't well prepared enough to have success in service, blah, blah, blah.
Maybe the fact that I worked 50+ hours a week plus travel left little time for service and then I'd get these territories that were done last month."there you go buddy, enjoy!"

What does the WTBTS make of sept. 11th?
by Bas inmy first thought was actually that the 2 prophets had arrived for the watchtower, meaning it would collapse itself in the not to distant future.. secondly i thought the watchtower would say the twin towers are the final prophets for the coming armageddon.
i'm not aware of any official communications on behalf of the wtbts regarding the subject, are there?
in fact i did stay in new york in 2000 but i only walked brooklyn bridge halfway, never made it to brooklyn.

The stories that made their way up here to northern ontario are that some people walking away from the towers made their way to the brooklyn bethel.NOT ONLY were they let in but GIVEN FOOD AND WATER.This showed how loving and caring jehovah's organization is when a crisis hits.
I don't know if there's any truth to this story,it's just what I heard around here, although I'm leaning more towards the locked doors story.

Watchtower Jan,15 2006.??????
by integ infrom watchtower jan 15 2006.
" another fine example for our youths is that of 4 year old "jessica", who wrote to the society to express appreciation for the faithful slaves' counsel regarding what to do if one is tempted to read any of the "poison" of apostate literature; "i am writing to you dear brothers to express my sincere, heartfelt appreciation to those of you entrusted with the administration of carrying out our master jesus' spiritual directive to supply us with our 'food at the proper time'.
as a young one, it is sometimes difficult to resist the great deceiver: satans' crafty acts.

Very funny story, but what's most hilarious is that every loyal jw would actually believe it to be 110% true.

Do you find any value in attending the occaisonal meeting?
by 24k indo you still attend the occaisonal meeting with your believing family members?
if so, do you find any value in what's presented?
i still attend the occaisonal sunday meeting with my believing wife in an effort to show my respect for her feelings and my willingness to be tolerant.

NO
Unfortunately,I'm in the same boat as you 24k.Trying to keep peace around here and slowly trying to convince the wife that JN 13:34-35 proves the WTS is not God's organization.

Did anybody ever predict the end of the world for way off in the future?
by AlmostAtheist inthe guy that shot 11 people, killing 7, in a church in wisconsin was apparently upset over a sermon he'd heard.
the sermon may not have been about the end of the world, but the church he attended taught that it was coming, and coincidentally, it was coming "soon".

Just look into the history of the wtbts, the "mother" of all doomsday predictions.
I believe Nostrdamus predicted the end in about 3500 something...

Jehovah's Witness Oddities
by minimus ini now enjoy telling people about the things jehovah's witnesses can and cannot do.
for instance, witnesses can work in a store that sells lottery tickets and tobacco but they can't own the store themselves.....whole blood is forbidden to be transfused yet blood fractions are acceptable.
donating blood in any form is wrong but accepting blood fractions is a conscience matter.........can you think of other jw oddities????

If the company you work for goes on strike you can't picket but you can do other jobs for the union to collect your strike pay, such as clean the trailers or write up picketing schedules. To me that's the same as joining the army and only cleaning the barracks or writing up schedules.
