wow, you made it through two years in that hell hole? I think I new I was gonna have to leave after the orientation...you know, where they make you sit through those safety videos and then make you go have a urine test...all that trouble for a crap job.

What's your worst job experiences?
by missy04 ini don't have too many crumby experiences, but i was just sitting here thinking about when i worked as a hostess at a local restaurant.
it was kind of a family-owned restaurant, and whoever had worked there for a long time still worked there no matter how @$@#^ their attitudes were.
i tried and tried to just be polite and have conversations with them but they didn't like me and were antagonizing me to the point of being in tears from the start.. there was one particular waitress who the men would walk in and specifically ask for..like walk up and whisper in your ear..."put me at a----'s table, please"..it wasn't too big of a mystery why all the men asked for her.. and one particular waitress made a habit of throwing the menu's at me when she wanted them put back after being used...like walk by me and throw them over her shoulder and i would be trying to catch them all.. there was also alot of he-said-she-said bullcrap.

Right before I started college I worked at Target...didn't last long. I got sick of the floor manager coming up to me accusing me of chewing gum. When I quit the manager told me it didn't matter if I was in college she said "quiting Target now will ruin your chances in the future." Anytime I need a good laugh I think of those words.

What foods are yall addicted to??

ummm....I have to have coffee but at this point it's not about the flavor. I was addicted to salami and pepperoni sticks but since the mad cow thing last year I cut out cow products...I miss them so very very much

How many here grew up JW but had worldly friends?
by Jez inmy best friend was worldly all through elementary to high school.
we are still good friends.
i wonder if that led to our being a tad bit more open minded and aided in our exit???

I had some worldly friends throughout elementary, but I knew not to invite them over to my house. By the time I was in my early teens all my friends were worldly...it's safe to say I didn't feel very excepted by my JW peers.

Missed oppourtunities as a JW kid?
by kwintestal injw kids are repressed in every aspect of their lives, creatively, intellectually, atheletically...the list goes on.. what did you love to do as a kid, yet weren't permitted to do?.
i personally loved football as a kid.
other jw kids and i would play every weekend until the subject was brought up at an assembly as being competitive.

I think everybody's touched on most of the things I think I missed out on--relationships with peers (I got yanked from school too...but it didn't last that long), school activities including assignments that might have holiday themes, any after school activity, birthday parties, being allowed to have a warm fuzzy feeling when in the presence of a christmas tree, being able too get through a day without worrying about the "great tribulation"--but you know I think I am who I am because of it. I'm not saying it's right (I know it's not), but some of those experiences molded me in some ways for the better after I realized they were wrong...does that make sense? I guess what I'm saying is I learned from it.

I heard all these and other demon stories....one that had to do with wallpaper being stripped and a demon came out yadayadayada. Demonized stuff not being able to burn well...I think someone else mentioned this. Any heavy metal records could instantly bring demons especially Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, and even Kiss. Dungeons and Dragons was not just a retarded game for nerds to occupy their time, it was a deadly game that could leave you not only demonized but in a mental ward or worse a suicide statistic...the JWs that I grew up with got helped out by a movie of the week (Ithink it was) starring Tom Hanks back in the early 80s. -

ive tried it twice and am glad im still here.im no wuss either former power lifter very veril and have 4 children.some of you kill me with your live for today mentality.i have a hard time believing that you chose to leave rather than being disfellowshipped and just feel bitter.
