I could say it's sad, and in some way it is. What's interesting is that all the money in the world and being super good looking cannot save those who at the end are shallow and empty.

Roumors about it having to do with Lovecraftian lore might be wrong. Regardless, it seems like an interesting proposition, the whole handheld video stuff. Almost like a Blair Witch Project kind of deal. The thing I'm a little worried about would be that, because of how the film was shot, we might never get a real good look at the creature.

ok, who knows what michael jackson really believes about children, but generally speaking "worldly" people (sorry for the jw speak, but you know what i mean) indeed believe that "children are the future" and that "kids come first".
often, "worldly" parents act accordingly, and their children thrive because of the life choices (often real sacrifices) the parents make.
I hear ya brother. JWs, more often than not, become all the things a 'Christian' should not... Selfish, judgmental, bitter, hateful and bigoted. All that transfer to the way they raise and the attention they give to their children.

TTRP, that is awesome to read! I know your wife is a very bright woman and I think they way you are approaching the issues is working. Believe me, from experience I know that leaving that cult is much easier if your spouse is on the same page with you. Everybody else can suck a big fat one!

i honestly can't remember when last i held a watchtower or awake in my hands - it kinda creeps me out to even think about having them near me.. i used to have loads of magazines and books, kept my old bible, reasoning book, aid book, live forever, revelation, and greek bible for a while.
but i got to the stage where i just didn't want anymore of that crap in my house - had to thow it out.
the magazines alone filled a couple of black bags.
If by literature you mean 'mounds of ashes', then no, the wind took those away long ago.
And sometimes when my mother oversteps her boundaries and sends some 'new' piece vomit producing printed material, it quickly becomes ashes and promptly taken by the South Texas wind... talk about spreading the word ;p
like that time my sweet dear mother told me that she had lost her house keys, and she looked everywhere.
couldn't find them.
she was worried, and to top it off, late for her meeting at the kh, so she asked jehovah to help her find her keys and, you know?
I asked Jehovah to help me deal with the stress, and lo and behold! somebody offered me a cigarette. Now I'm screwed 'cause I know he will be busy finding someone's keys while I die of cancer.
The more I think about it, the more I'm covinced he's a douchebag.
