I'm sorry to hear you've been suffering Sylvia, but happy to hear that you found the meds that work for you. That takes time and patience to find the right drug and dosage. I speak from experience. Take care of yourself and I wish you the best!

godrulz:
I'm not atheist. Atheism I feel is a religion in itself. I'm a devout agnostic.
i am now sitting at home.
my wife left with my little child.
my fault (i dislike the word "fault", but don't have a better one right now).. it feels strange, relieved and free, at the same time it was all very strange.
You took the first step Intel in the right direction.
It WILL BE HARD finding your equilibrium after the euphoric feeling wears off of giving them the so called, f*** off.
If you can, I would advise talking to a professional counselor, preferably one who is familiar with cult indoctrination. Be kind to yourself as you ride the waves of emotions after leaving. Find something you enjoy doing - volunteer, hobbies, etc. to stay positive. And find strength from talking to others who support your decision. Stay active - exercise (walking, biking, swimming) is a proven depression fighter.
This forum has helped many after they have made their decision to leave because there is validation to your feelings and expressions. I wish you the best!

that's what i feel cult religions are doing to children.
that's the absolute worst thing about the jehovah's witness religion and others like it.. kids raised in these cults are trying to grow up emotionally.
the damage in childhood affects them as adults as they try to find their way in this world and in their relationships with others.. i felt the need to vent.... .
Thank you Glander. I value your thought.
Hi Outlaw. How's life in the outback?

Hey Sylvia! How have you been?
I believe there was a Jesus - the facts (history) show there was. I believe Jehovah was the name of a tribal god of the people at that time fulfilling their superstitious needs as they had limited knowledge of science.
I feel we've outgrown the usefulness of religion and should educate ourselves with science to get on with finding solutions to serious issues we all face here on earth.
That's my opinion.

much of our spring was very cold, intermingled with the occasionally 'extreme' heat.
so far summer [which started this week] is cooler than any i can recall, but extremely wet and high humidity.
the entire house feels like a wet blanket.. the doom-sayer types are constantly remarking how this must mark 'something' if not the end.
It's the same here in Wisconsin, Jeff. Long, cold, snowy winter. No Spring. Summer so far has been very wet and the temps are all over the place. I'm sure the weather patterns all over will only get worse. Definitely no "sign of the end", but according to science, we are seeing the affects of global warming.
a little background on me, i have never been a jw.
my spouse was born and raised in the cult, disfellowshipped as a young adult and is now completely shunned by family still trapped inside.
before i met my spouse i knew very little about the jws.
Welcome Resistance!
The Steve Hassan book is excellent. I wish you the best in your journey and I'm sure you'll find a lot of information at this site to help you. Please don't get discouraged if you find yourself knocking your head against the wall so to speak. You are dealing with people in a cult. I was in for over 21 years and nothing someone would say would've turned me away - only what I started to wake up to made a difference. I had to come to my own conclusion about things and personally ready to be shunned.
Again, best to you.

i was thinking to myself today, people suck humans suck.i know that when i was younger i used to see myself helpng people.but now i could care less.the reason is because in reality things will never get better.i am not saying god is going to help us.i do not believe in god.i feel that no mattr what charity you give to an organization in the end it is all futile and pointless.this life we live is hard and can seem pointless.does anybody else feel that way..
I carefully choose those who are to be around me - cut loose those that screw me over. I have few friends obviously. Those few friends are the ones that I concern myself with. Those are the ones that I will go out of my way for. Actually I like to curl up with a good book, play with my animals, help those who are deserving and take care of necessary business. Perhaps I'm a loner? It works for me.
those who play the game for the sake of family love and all it means in real life are unsung heroes.
people who sacrifice for what is important to them and those that love them are an example of the quality people whose hearts and minds the wt corporation can only bully but never own.. my respects.. g. .
My wish is that all of us find peace and healing from what we have suffered while being in this "religion". I sure miss the Gumbster and his silliness. There are so few "oldsters" at this site now... many new casualties streaming in getting validation to their doubts and unanswered questions.
