i recieve many pms, emails, and more recently, many thread replies which ask me a simple question.. why are you disassociating yourself?
why not just fade?.
well, here's why.. my mother, and her mother, are in the "truth".
Richie when I left i left by fading away, I stopped publishing and attending meetings and moved out of the area and in the 17 yrs since there have been DOZENS of times I've wanted to go back for one reason or another. The Truth f**king haunts me. By DA'ing yourself its gonna be final, you'll be out and you wont be haunted or tempted to go back in the future. I admire you and kinda envy you. Do it.

i have been lurking for some time and only recently started to post if you have seen my posts, i have always represented myself as a loyal jw and one who is planning to stay in however, lately my faith and commitment as a jw has been tested and, without going into details, i am having problems of faith and life that i could really use some help on.
if so, you might ask, why dont i just leave?
well, i have a wife that is a very devout jw and she would be crushed and very upset if i quit she believes it all 100% and lives to worship the borg in fact, she would be very upset if she even knew i was visiting this site.
You can't just pick and chose which part of the truth you like and don't like, its all or nothing. Hot or cold, there is no Luke warm, if you do things by half measures the Elders will be onto you.
3. In tandem with the above, I will seek and nurture my good and fun-to-be-with adult professional “worldly” friends to the exclusion of lesser friends I find in the “Truth”
I *really* wish I could have done this, unfortunately worldly association dragged me down despite my best intentions. My congregation was Elderly and what few peers I had in the truth got married and moved away or where far to spiritual to hang out with me. I got so lonely I had to leave for my own sanity .
4. Keep an open free mind and look at and participate (for the good) in this very interesting, helpful and often encouraging web site. (BTW, thanks again to all those postings that have helped me “clear” my head on some things.)
You won't be able to do that either, Look up IP_SEC's profile on here (sorry Matt) and check out some of his first postings. Here we have a ministerial poster boy, someone we probably would have all looked up to and would have wanted to be like but by his own admission he had a "pinhole in his spiritual armour. He had tiny little doubts about what he was being told at the KH, doubts over stupid things, things that didn't *really* matter. So he came here looking for answers and suddenly that pinhole became a great big hole. For better or worse Matt, "Poster Boy" is now out of the Org and that's what will happen to you eventually if you stay here.

maybe this has been addressed before, but after reading certain comments about people being "outed", i wonder if the wts really monitors this site?

or is it just individual elders etc.?.
I've given my real name, am very open about my home, and have posted tons of pictures of myself, as well as been fairly descriptive when it comes to my run-ins with the elders. Anyone in my area could easily ID me. And yet, here I am, 10 months on here, 2300 posts, and not a darn word about it.
They're just waiting for your "Stepford clone" to be ready then you'll be whisked outta the back door of the library and be replaced with a nice Richie that will be special Pioneering before the summer!

just read in another thread how a youngster moved many many miles from his old congo, where he had 'fessed to "self-abuse" (how many of the gb were in the early boy-scouts, i ask?
anyway, the new book study conductor took him to one side after the meeting and asked how successful was he in dealing with his "problem".
this is what gets me so much about letting hlc see your records - they have no sense of tactful kindness or privacy.

Not the drag thing but the self abuse prob, looking back it was such a stupid thing to confess to but I wanted to get baptised and thought it was holding me back. When i changed congregations and was pulled up over it i realised that not only did my new BSC know about it but that my new PO would too. For a young bloke in his late teens this was really embarrassing and slightly crushing, I felt like the whole GBE knew
Whats worse is that I KNOW that somewhere there is still a bit of paper with my name on and a note that says "Matthew XXXXX - He plays with himself"
