It does seem that some here are using the common term definition for "truths" to mean facts, when their truths are not established and their facts are not even correct or established.
I wholeheartly agree.
...and that applies to religion as well as politics.. if someone simply believes such and such is true, it doesn't really matter whether you "prove" it or not.
people will believe what they want to believe..

This year will be the 23rd anniversary of my not going to the memorial. Why break a streak now?
todays scientists can and do insert their trademark into dna.. why couldn't jehovah anticipate scientists learning this technique and stumbling across a strand that says "human by yhwh"?.
that would have answered a lot of questions.. he could have even included a model number human2.0.
people will agree, disagree... Debate on and on but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter. I don't live each day wondering if there is a creator or not. Why get all worked up on it? Just live the life that you've been given. If your content believing there is a God, great! If your content believing there isn't one, that's great! It's your choice. Forcing your beliefs down anybody's throat just goes to show insecure you are of what your trying to preach. I've learned to accept people for who they are. It's a waste trying to convince them otherwise!

Beliefs aren't truth, they're just beliefs. Nothing more, nothing less.

You got that right smiddy.
what are the basic teachings of jws on the lord's supper?.
"Look but don't eat or drink cuz it's not for you" about sums it up.

"If what you believe is actually true,-- you don't need to believe it."

Beliefs are not facts. They're just beliefs. Nothing more, nothing less.
i'll start.
i'm low on friends, for various reasons.
scientists poke their calculators into everything, and the number of friends we can have is one of them.
I have few friends and a few aquintences. Sometimes I think I need more friends, other times I think the few I have are quite enough. I don't make friends easily and for me that's ok. I like to think I'm more quality focused vs quantity.
i jus got dissfellowshiped at th last week..i feel like dying..i attended th meetings yesterday and ita ws jus horrible..came back home in tears....... people i used to cal my friends nw cant look me in the eye..so heartbroken confused and giving up on life !.
My cousin is a jw, has been since she was a teenager. She married a nonjw almost 24 years ago. She wasn't disfellowshipped or even reproved. I don't think she's ever been shunned. She's still married to her husband (an avowed atheist and liberal) and they have three kids.
My cousin asked me once if I had heard of the rumors saying she and her husband had slept together before married and that's why they had to run off to Reno to marry. I hadn't. Thankfully I was far removed from that congregational gossip and am of the opinion that's it's really none of anyone's business if they had.
You have my empathy Chichi. Focus on your relationship. Forget your socalled friends. Find and cultivate some new friends.

" Oh we'll see what happens!"
Yep, we sure will.
i was wondering (again) about what i got out of my deal with mormon god.
the more i thought about it the more i realised that the xian god asks way too much and offers too little.. what does xg demand:.
1 - obedience to changeable often arbitrary commandments normally with little clarification of when and when not to apply them.
" The Oxford English Dictionary ( OED ) and the OED Supplement have cited usages of "X-" or "Xp-" for "Christ-" as early as 1485. The terms "Xtian" and less commonly "Xpian" have also been used for "Christian". The OED further cites usage of "Xtianity" for "Christianity" from 1634. [2] According to Merriam-Webster's Dictionary of English Usage , most of the evidence for these words comes from "educated Englishmen who knew their Greek". [11]
In ancient Christian art, χ and χρ are abbreviations for Christ's name. [19] In many manuscripts of the New Testament and icons, Χ is an abbreviation for Χριστος, [20] as is XC (the first and last letters in Greek, using the lunate sigma); [21] compare IC for Jesus in Greek.
Other proper names containing the name "Christ" besides those mentioned above are sometimes abbreviated similarly, either as "X" or "Xt", both of which have been used historically, [22] e.g., "Xtopher" or "Xopher" for "Christopher", or "Xtina" or "Xina" for the name "Christina".
In the 17th and 18th centuries, "Xene" and "Exene" were common spellings for the given name Christine. The American singer Christina Aguilera has sometimes gone by the name "Xtina". Similarly, Exene Cervenka has been a noted American singer-songwriter since 1977.
This usage of "X" to spell the syllable "kris" (rather than the sounds "ks") has extended to "xtal" for "crystal", and on florists' signs to "xant" for "chrysanthemum", [23] even though these words are not etymologically related to "Christ": "crystal" comes from a Greek word meaning "ice" (and not even using the letter χ), and "chrysanthemum" comes from Greek words meaning "golden flower", while "Christ" comes from a Greek word meaning "anointed".
