I am 11 years older than my brothers. So I understand how a younger sibling can be very similar to your own child. When you are a child, caring for a child, you do it with childish love - unconditionally and wholly. It's very pure and fragile in so many ways. I know this must hurt and yet be a relief.

I love a good ol' PB and J. With crunchy PB of course. And then there's the TAC from Cinnamon's Deli in Wichita Kansas...Turkey, Avocado, and Cream Cheese. Yum-meee!!!
I also make a mean home made chicken salad with diced onions and celery.

i heard from zazu today that sadly larc passed away this morning.
he died peacefully in his sleep of heart failure.
No, no, no!!!! Oh Zazu. I'm so sorry! I'm glad it was a peaceful transition for him. I do believe he's in another, more wonderful world. He was one of the sweetest men on this board...always such a father figure to me. I don't know if you remember, but I always considered him "Daddy Larc."

hi.. i've been meaning to introduce myself at some point in time when i had enough balls to ask some of the questions i've been thinking for the past couple of months.
however, i've had a horredous day and now just want to talk to anyone.... my hubbys asleep, gotta work tomorrow again...get to spend all day just me and the baby alone again.
i'm petsitting for the cutest dog who will not stop whining and clawing at the door every 15 minutes.

i was thinking about this today and i found a interesting thought in my mind that i thought would be worth considering here.
i should start off by saying that i do not think prayers to god are answered, as it is like making a call to a wrong number.
however, i do think you can fool yourself into thinking they are, in the following way.. let's say you pray over and over asking for this and that and that.
"If God knows everything about you, why does he not hear prayer without the magic "AMEN" word"
Where does it say anywhere that He doesn't hear it without the AMEN?
"If everything is "in Jesus name" then why would God not know this every time and require that your keep reminding him"
IMO, this is more for us than for God. It is a reminder to ME that it is through Christ, my mediator, that God hears.
"If God knows your needs, without prayer, why pray?"
Again, this is more for us than for God. He will provide us all our needs, whether we ask for it or not. The sparrow doesn't pray and yet he's taken well care of. The exercise of us asking for assistance is what keeps us humble. Reminds us that we are the creation, not the God.
"If you pray out loud, doesn't the Devil hear you too and if so, isn't that like aiding information to the enemy?"
God is more powerful than the enemy, so no matter what Satan hears, I am safe. I've been saved and it cannot be taken away from me. So what harm is Satan going to do? If God's will be done, Satan isn't going to get in the way of anything.

What a wonderful article! Thank you for putting it together. Even though I am not a UBM, nor has my husband ever been a JW, I found a lot I could use in that article. My parents and brothers are still very devout. I've realized over time, should I ever try to talk to them about their beliefs, it will be much like me coaxing a bunny to eat from my hand. It will be a long and tedious process, but hopefully my patience won't wear out and I don't scare the bunny away.
