My new avatar, do you like it?
by greendawn inafter nearly two years i got fed up with my avatar and decided to change it, i noticed many people change theirs quite frequently.
because doctor evil (mike myers, who surprisingly also plays austin powers and fat scotman in the same films) really made me laugh i decided to put him as the new avatar.
i think myers is canadian.

If you could cheat on your mate...
by Country Girl inand guaranteed not get caught.. would you?.
if it were possible that you could cheat on your mate, or significant other, and not get caught, would you do it?
i've often asked myself that, and asked my husband, too.

Two things... One...unfortunately, I can speak from personal experience. I cheated on my first husband when we were married for only a year and he had no idea until after it was long over with. To this day, I still struggle with the shame and guilt that I brought on myself. And honestly, I hope I struggle with that forever. When the pain of that memory is fresh, it keeps me clean. It reminds me of how precious my marriage is with Neil today and how having an affair would not only continue to degrade me as a woman, but would devastate my husband. Two...not that this is even an issue as I am very much in love with Neil physically, mentally, and emotionally. He gives me no reason to stray! I got myself the biggest catch ever! So, my answer is NO with a big capital N. It's not worth it. Andi

by Alana in....and i'm not sure how to handle it.
actually, if she were getting too close to a boy, i probably wouldn't know how to handle it either....lol.

Her next blog entry said she have a new boyfriend, so I guess she made her choice (at least for this week..........)
I remember my crushes changing from week to the next. One week I thought I'd DIE of I didn't marry John. The next week I thought I'd DIE if Russell asked me out. LOL!
I'm glad things went so smoothly with your daughter. I know it was a scary thing to confront and discuss, but it seems like you're doing a fabulous job!

I know it's going to be hard to be the bigger person (it always is!), but this is one situation I think you should, if you can. You've got your own hurts to deal with, so you are the only one that can draw your own boundaries. If this is too painful to you, then limit your contact with him. He'll learn eventually how hypocritical he is being. If you can be the bigger person and continue to be kind to him, despite his rudeness to you, then do so. You probably do understand his reasons for ignoring you, but it doesn't make him right. Do what you feel is best for you. Who knows? Perhaps one day he'll see your kindness as the beginning of his cognitive dissonance.

Going in a different direction here...I was watching the NFL interviews for the upcoming games on Sunday. I was kind of surprised at all the players and coaches saying that the reason for their being there was due to their faith in God. (Most of them gave God credit for their success.) During the games I notice that quite a few players go to the sidelines and pray...they seem to sincerely believe that God is helping them. Most of these guys have been to college and so are familiar with the "no God" concept. Why do you think that so many have such a strong faith? Do you think that the mental meditation is what helps them to play better, but they attribute it to God? Love to hear your comments!!!
Perhaps what they are thankful for is not just winning, but for having been given a gift (talent) and then using it to the best of their ability. If that helps them win, then maybe it's just icing on the cake. When I shoot a wedding or have a photo session that is just perfect in every way, I AM thankful. I am thankful to God for giving me a talent and for giving me the thought and strength to do the very best I can with what was given me. I do believe without Him, I would have nothing. And I'm incredibly grateful for that!
Just my two l'il pennies...

Lyme Disease, anyone have experience with this?
by free2beme init's weird, but always thought lyme disease was something you got from ticks and it was this minor thing that could be fixed with a pill.
i had no idea how serious and destructive this disease really is.
my sister got bit by a tick about four years ago and thought nothing of it, after all she lives in the country and has animals, and ticks were just common life issues.

I have a friend with Lyme in Philly. I don't know if they caught it soon enough, because she continues to have problems even after treatment. You'd think this was a fairly simple thing to cure, but it's not.
