I agree Josie and partcipating on this board for me, is part of the "moving on" process. Having a little whinge or sharing an emotional hurt after 16 years of remaining silent because I didn;t know anyone else who had expperienced it is a very healthy part of "moving on". So I shall continue "moving on" via this board and the very funny and caring majority of fellow-travellers here!

TJ - why weren;t JWs allowed to go to Centre Parcs? We couldn't afford to go but I didn;t know its was banned? I'm pretty sure gangs of people went from congregations down our way?
Things I wasn't allowed to do:
Watch Knightrider because the car was possessed
Wear ripped jeans - even if they got ripped on a Quick Build!
Eat Red smarties because they were made out of beetles blood (so what about John The Baptist who ate raw locusts out in the desert - did he bleed them first - I don't think so!)

I'm with flying high too! It is romantic - their relationship lasted longer than most marriages do!
And whoever said it is sexist to call Diana a slut well maybe it is so call me sexist. One of my friends was a butler for several years at Buckingham Palace and no one who worked there was under any illusions about Diana being anything other than a self-pitying drama queen who had a rampant sexual appetite and whilst she wasn;t picking men up in pubs she was picking them up everywhere else!
And also why knock Charles - he knows like the rest of the nation that William is as related to him as I am and yet he has raised that boy as his own son.
Personally I like Charles and Camilla - much better suited than Charles and Diana
So many People are against Charles and camilla because of Diana(remember the pathetic ott outpouring of Grief when she died?) of course it was sad she died ,but She was no saint.Rather a ,manipulative,selfish drama Queen.

Bullies
by Nancy Drake inhi ya'll.. i'm looking for advice on how to handle a neighborhood child that is bullying my son and other children in my apartment complex.
he is very mean, takes my son's stuff, tries to trip him on his bike by putting a stick into his spokes, pulling his underwear up, cussing at him.
at first i tried to talk to him nicely, asked him to please not do mean things to other children.

Beachbender - your experience is dreadful. I feel so sorry for your son! I used to get bullied but I'd generally just offer a weak superior smile and shake my head slowly as if I could not believe I had to share the planet with such morons and go back to whatever I was doing. I learnt that look off my Dad - hehe - the expression he would use on the doors or to bible studies who were asking tricky questions!

Nancy - do not be intimidated. Try talking to his parents - they must speak some English surely? I thought you had to to gain entry visa to the States.
Personally I'd get him alone and scare him to death for the rest of his life, but I'm just mean and think that bullies only stop if they are bullied back.
Where do the kids play? or is this happening at school?

Are the Demons Really Everywhere?
by professor inour witness family was obsessed with demonism.. at a very early age, i was introduced to strange stories of demonism.
a brother in the congregation had brought home a souvenier doll from a tropical island as a gift for his daughter.
the daughter would talk about how the doll would come to life, but the stories were dismissed and attributed to the child's imagination.

We weren't allowed to watch Wizard of Oz as kids or ET becuase both were about demons - apparently. But a friend whose Dad was the PO used to boast about how many times she'd seen Wizard of Oz and that made me so jealous!
