The point is: Until the ransom was paid, it wouldn't matter how many times you died, you would still be resurrected into "sin". There was no resurrection to everlasting life, or hope of, until the ransom was paid.

greetings apostopeople........... my daughter, 10 yrs, will be sitting her 11+ exam in january 2005 and i am going through some past papers.

some of the questions are pretty tasking....eek for me!!!.

here's one for you to try out.............. 'write down a number which leaves a remainder of 3 when divided by 7 and which also leaves a remainder of 4 when divided by 5.'.

Question on Rom 6:23

for years we been taught that we die because of sin and once you die you have paid your "debt" .

Granted mine is only biblical speculation, but if one was resurrected from the dead in this life as in the case of those you mention who were resurrected by Christ or the apostles (as opposed to being resurrected in the spirit--in that world) it was more like a reprieve here, not a resurrection into everlasting life in spiritual heaven there. That would be an entirely different resurrection. Maybe what it is saying, or means, is that the wages of sin is death altogether of this human life--no resurrection of that body here. Granted--just speculation.

for those here who still profess belief in god i'd like to know if religion is still an important/necessary part of that belief system.

I believe in God, in the ransom, but not in organized religion. I don't think there is anything wrong with association with Christians in an organized religion for fellowship as long as one does not get into the mindset of being "in the truth".
