  Assumption of Moses

  i've read claims (mentioning origen) that jude 9 would be a quote from the "assumption of moses", also known as the "testament of moses".

  however, i can't find any reference in this pseudepigraphical writing that would even losely have a connection to a fight between michael the archangel and the devil.

  what i also find confusing, that the "book of jubilees" is sometimes called "testament of moses" too, but that's a whole different story.

  Mark 14:62

  did mark intend his jesus to openly declare that he was the messiah?

  through out the text we find mark hinting about the identity and even having his hero forbid others to declare their conviction that he was the messiah.

  yet in mark 14:62 most bibles have jesus openly declaring himself to the high priest be the coming one, saying ?i am?.

  some have suggested that ?walking upon the sea?

  story of mark 6:45-51 was based upon an older resurrection appearance story that mark misinterpreted.

  the similarity to luke 24:36-7 (surprised disciples seeing what they took to be a spirit) suggests that mark misunderstood his source?s use of the expression (epi)?on?

  "Who Really Rules The World?"

  found this little tract stuck in my door when i got home today...what a bunch of pessimistic rubbish!

  the last paragraph starts with "happily, the time is now near when satan and his cohorts will be no more!

  " so, the end is still near, satan rules the world, world conditions suck.... no wonder so many of them look like they've sucked on a lemon..... i can't wait until they come back (if i'm home).

  The Red Tent--a question about the story of Dinah

  i just finished listening to anita diamant's "the red tent".

  this was the second time through for me with this, in my opinion, really good book, but i realized that i have forgotten what the bible actually says about dinah and her brothers (well, but of course, the bible has a lot more to say about her brothers in general, simply because they were male).

  i don't have a bible anymore and wouldn't know where to look if i did have one, so i was wondering if someone could point me to the approximate location in the bible of the "story" of dinah.

  Is Jesus Christ and Michael the ArchAngel one and the same person?

  i must admit that as a jw i never really swallowed this belief maybe because i was so young when i was really a staunch jw.

  i would have born-again christians tell me that it was impossible for jesus and michael to be the same person and that jw's invented this doctrine.

  fast forward to 2004 while i was reading a book on jesus i noticed that some of the early church fathers thought michael was jesus christ i almost fell out of my chair.

  i know they're desperate for new members for that annual service report; but she is wayyyyy too young to know what she's doing to her life.

  Spinning the Noah Story WT Style

  for as they were in those days before the flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that noah entered into the ark; and they took no note until the flood came and swept them all away?

  note that jesus said nothing about noah doing any preaching or doing any warning to others about the coming flood.

  Can a JW get a scriptual divorce if mate is "gay or lesbian"?

  this is a very interesting topic because i know a sister who was married to a homosexual man and stayed with him for years.

  back in the earlier days jw's were told that "adultery" was sex with a married person and someone of the opposite sex.

  so if a jw women found out her husband was having gay affairs she could not scriptually divorce her husband.
