  bumped into an old friend of my mothers.

  her daughter died in a car crash over 30 years ago.

  the truth is all she can talk about and seeing her daughter again.

  Bumped into an old friend of my mothers. Her daughter died in a car crash over 30 years ago. The truth is all she can talk about and seeing her daughter again. But it made me wonder. Do jw's compete the grieving process or are they stopped at not beliving they are not really dead and live there lives out waiting for them to arrive back.

  Honey Bees..Is it just media hype??

  yesterday we went to our local farmers market and came across a vender that had a whole honey bees display.

  I am a hoppyist bee keeper in New Zealand. Our latest trade mag had a large article about the missing bees. The bees just dissappear, no disease in the boxes at all. So the trade is taking it seriously.

  i am a member of the quilters club.

  we are fundrasing for the club by raffling off a quilt.

  yesterday i decided to go "door to door" selling the raffle tickets in the neighbourhood.

  I am a member of the Quilters club. We are fundrasing for the club by raffling off a quilt. Yesterday I decided to go "door to door" selling the raffle tickets in the neighbourhood. LOL the house next door (rented) went up the steps and they where all having Sunday lunch. "Sorry to bother you I am selling raffle tickets as a fundraiser" No....... we are Jehovahs Witnesses, but my husband isn't and he will buy one. I just about burst into laughter. Sold the tickets and left. So instead of bugging people they got bugged. Ha Ha Ha

  Living wills

  there has been alot of threads about health and the blood issue.

  i can't stress enough the importance of having an advanced directive or living will.

  especially if your family are still jw's.

  I have to agree. My mother suffered a stoke 3 months ago leaving her completly parslysed down one side and the other only respovice to pain, temperature and somtimes touc, no speech no real facial movement.. For the first week we refused to have a feeding tube inserted, no medication and fluids. After the first week see gained the abiltiy to sallow again and ate like there was no tommorow. The stroke had cause servere brain damage and Mum had little memory and no way to communicate except through facial gestures(sometimes). She survied another two months showing no sighs of improvement, being in nappies, feed by spoon, not understanding where she was and what was happening. She was sent to a hospital wing at an old folks home to the Hospital wing. The treatment at the hospital was to prolong her life. We caught them injecting fluid and food directly into her mouth. They tried reabilitaion , once. At the Home they looked after her and kept her comftable, She had another stoke and died the same day. The said fact is that even if she had a living will it would not have helped. There was no resusatation and could breath on her own.

  Did demons ever really rape some sisters?

  i had a conversation last night with someone and we were reminescing about the late 60's and early 70's about how a couple of the sisters were telling at the time that they were being molested and sometimes raped by demons.

  in our cong they were told to open the bible to a certain scripture and leave the bible open to it at all times and leave a light on.

  anyone else remember some of this paranoia?

  Making real friends

  i have been away from the meetings for about a year now.

  i recently attended a funeral and the witnesses mostly avoided me even though i am not disfellowshipped.

  my problem is i need to replace my old friends because they look at me with such suspicion now.. i never had trouble making friends before i was a witness,but that was 30 years ago.

  I found going to hoppy clubs. I have been to Cake decorating club and now a quilting guild. I go to adults Tap dancing as well. This has exposed my to a wide group of people, all of which I have something in common with. These Clubs and guilds have social events and after a while you notice that you get on well with a couple of people and start socialising oustide of the club or class and this is the start of a freindship.
