  Facing old age

  having just past 50 i have been reflecting on my childhood with the witnesses.

  the people i grew up with who are the same age with elderly parents some still alive.

  i tend to have a positive attitude but i realise that for me this is it.

  it may have discussed elsewhere but should not the fact its nearly 100 years since jesus came invisibly.

  this should be ringing alarm bells for the 50 year olds and upwards age group.

  or has this generation will not pass away being passed over for new light??

  Growing old in this system

  meet up wth an old friend of my parents.

  it was sad, mable in her 80's husband is 91 and falling apart.

  off course to start with it was armageddon must be soon.

  at a young age i remember watching tv and commenting why is the red cross always helping people and we don't.

  the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.

  as a child i don't think we think about theological problems so what tipped you off?

  bumped into an old friend of my mothers.

  her daughter died in a car crash over 30 years ago.

  the truth is all she can talk about and seeing her daughter again.

  i am a member of the quilters club.

  we are fundrasing for the club by raffling off a quilt.

  yesterday i decided to go "door to door" selling the raffle tickets in the neighbourhood.

  apart from my parents, people were just glad to see me go as i was creating trouble with the other young people in the congregation.

  did your leaving create a ripple or a tidial wave.

  EX JW numbers

  for those out there that play with figures we can calulate the number that have joined and left but how does the number that have left over say twenty years compare to the numbers still in.

  are we starting to out number them in some places?

  on my weekly visit to mummy dearest yesterday, she mentioned that they had a fire in the kindumb hall during a meeting, it had to be cleared and the fire birgade called.

  that they had all been very upset.

  i laughed and said " did they think that armageden was finally happening".
