Slightly different to the original question....but i left the org. to marry a so-called "unbeliever" and my aunt,my cousin, whom i was very close to, refused to attend our wedding held at the local registry office. I was not df'd but my aunt and her husband refused to let my cousin attend,which led to much heartache at the time.They now have the nerve to send my wife and i an anniversary card which i think is hypocritical,still she used to send the watchtower to tempt me back, i much prefer the card....

Are all elders stupid ????
by Blackcat induring a debate with a relative of mine who is an elder, i told him i had a copy of the elders manual (via the net)..the look on his face was a pictue to behold!!!
his wife could not believe that an ex-dub could possibly be in possesion of the oh so powerfull elders little book of tricks.he told me that the book was for authority and only elders have that authority to have access to the information in the book, is he on a big ego trip or is he just stupid not knowing this book is available to all on the net?
is,nt it common knowledge amongst elders?

Sorry if i offended anyone, calling elders stupid..should i have said ignorant,in a sense that they do,nt seem to be aware of life outside of the witness culture.Sometimes when i try to hold a simple conversation with the elder i mentioned, he appears to be on a different planet, or is that just years of brainwashing !!

I think too many of the average JWs are in awe of them and view them as gods themselves, so it must be a kick in the teeth when Mr.Apostate has access to their"authority".

by Englishman incan you remember that distinct moment in your life when you suddenly knew that your time as a jw was truly over?.
for me, that moment came several years after the removal of my privileges in the congregation when i admitted to having known my then fiance in a way that was not fitting for a ministerial servant.. i was quickly stripped of my 2 servants jobs, group study conducting, pioneer status, public talk giving and praying in the kh.
i was also forbidden to ever be alone with the lady concerned.. about 15 months later i was assigned a public talk, after 30 minutes i dried up.

The reason i left the org. was being told who i could and could not have a relationship with. It started when a new family moved into our cong. their eldest daughter instantly caught my attention, strolling into the hall wearing should i say a large belt (mini skirt), all of a sudden the meetings where interesting!! to cut a long story short she was,nt baptised, i started dating her and had the elders on my back (unbeliever and all that) the elders gave me two visits and told me i was going against jahs wishes, and i told them where to go......despite them telling me there was no future in our relationship, we have been hapily married for 9 yrs and have two beautifull children,which bring us more joy than anything experienced at the boredom hall !!!

by Englishman inwhen i was a kid and being forced to sit through hours of jw gobbledygook at the kh, i was always disconcerted by the "witnessy" language that was in use.. looking back now, i can see that having a private language, a language that only makes sense to the in crowd, is just one way in which devotees are bound into jw life.. i`ve recently been intrigued to come across some new and previously unknown phrases.
this occurred during a lively dicussion with a jw who felt that it was ok to talk to me as he had his very own "private pipeline to jehovah".. i`d just finished telling him how pleased i was that i had bailed out prior to 1975, when he said the following (in bold) phrases which he used over and over again:.
let me tell you, young man, that i am a servant of the most high god jehovah!

your so-called family members avoid you like the plague?.i find it quite comical to see how different they treat you, leaving the "truth" and keeping your mouth shut they can handle, but once you start questioning the so-called faithful and discreet slave, all hell breaks loose !!!
i,ve been accused of being anti-witness,apostate (which i dont mind) and been told that i,ve spat in the face of jah all because i have openly expressed my opinions about the org.

when i was a young 8 or 9yr old, i can remember a sister in the congregation confiding to my mother that she was having a pleasurable sexual experience (shall we say)with her non-witness husband, when she realised that her husband was on night shift and she was the only person in the house..and told my mum that she had been raped by a demon!! so at least we know that they can reach parts that others cannot reach!! (and yes i was a nosey little s"*T when i was a kid)!
