Wow, skin, if I knew this 10 years ago...

After thoroughly thinking through all my doubts and such, the one and only thing that kept me hanging on was the 1914 prophesy. I just couldn't beleive that WWI happened that exact year. But then when nothing else made sense, I finally had to just chalk it up to coincidence that WWI happened in 1914.

But according to you they had a plethora of dates to choose from, and later just focused on the 1914. Wow.

Okay, interesting point after all. Now let's all get back to reality! :)

one sunday last fall, i read the bible online since i couldn't attend the meeting.

i was careful to read only the kjv.

the problem was i read a verse that was different from what i remembered fro the nwt.

I told my mom, she studied the Creator book with me.

That didn't help.

She told the elders, they did a sheparding call.

That didn't help.

They assigned a mature pioneer sister to again study the Creator book with me.

That didn't help. About halfway into the book, she told the elders, it was no use, my mind was just not receptive to the truth.

So I faded out.

And here I am today!

I have some good news I'm going to share with you at JWD

some of you may know i'm a cab driver and i have been one for 3 years.the company i've been working for doesn't require a hack license.a hack license is a thing in my line of work needed to work in most big citys as a cab driver.you have to take a test to prove you know the city and if you pass you get your hack license.not many people can pass the test.. i've been working for a suburban cab company so i never needed one before.well a few weeks ago i looked into changing cab companys.so i called one and talked to the general manager about coming to that company.he was excited about it and set me up to take this test.i took the test a few weeks ago.i failed the first time but i had a feeling when i left that i was going to fail.not because i don't know my city but because the test asks for exact address of major attractions businesses and hotels through out not only the city but the county as well.. so the following week i took the test again.i had a good feeling this time.i tried to call the guy back and get my results on the day i was supposed to.i couldn't get him on the phone.i started to think i had failed again so i thought i would let a few weeks go by and call him again to take the test again.. well he called me yesterday and said i had passed.i am so excited.so my good news is i am changing cab companys.i can now work in the city of cleveland with out worrying about getting a ticket.now all i have to do is pass the drug test which is not a problem for me because i don't do any kind of drugs at all and a dot phyical.. the reason for the change is i'm not making enough money at my currant company.we are only allowed to pick people up in the burbs and that makes it hard to make money.this company has many school trips paid for by the school boards and county.i will be able to have the cab 24/7 if i want.i can drive when ever i want without having to go and pick up a cab.. i know 2 guys who went to this cab company this year.the first went this summer and he told me he's making between 1400.00 a week and 900.00 a week take home.i'm making between 400.00 and 500.00 a week now.so i'll be making way more money..

USA parts not worth visiting

for a tourist that intends to visit the usa and engage in travelling around and sightseeing, what places in that country would you advise will be a waste of time to visit?

If anyone is still reading:

Avoid South Dakota's "Mt. Rushmore". It was so depressing, we just about died. It was at that depressing point where it was almost interesting to see how miserable the lives of those people were. Well, okay perhaps they like the small-town life. But the biggest city in South Dakota is smaller than most small towns. Not even a WalMart! (that I saw.)

I didn't care much for Seattle.

Or LA. Just a big suburb with loads of traffic.

Didn't like Nashville. Too over-touristy. Seemed to have lost its charm. (But maybe we didn't visit the right places.)

Cold Weather Dress Code for Witnesses

with the advent of cooler weather (at least in canada and the northern us), one might think of how the witnesses are going to cope.

for certain, dress codes are going to have different effects now than they did when it was broiling hot.. men are going to be more comfortable now.

cooler weather means that the coat is not going to create as much heat stroke risk as it did in the heat of mid summer.

I only did field service in FLorida, so we didn't really have the extreme cold, though I remember being miserable one December becasue I had auxillary pioneered that month and spent my whole 2 week "Winter Break" in field service--40 degrees and raining.

By the way, despite JW background, I Love Dresses! I love nylons, I love pumps, I love pretty skirts. I just don't like carrying a book bag full of watchtowers with the ensamble.

i would also like to shed some light on my past, hopefully this does not give it away as to who i might be.

my wife and i were both raised as jw, we were both baptized when were fifteen years old.

Sexless Marriages Could Threre Be a Direct Link by Being Raised JW?

i would like start by saying i having been married twice.

the first time i married a girl who was also raised a jw, sex was great when we first got married but after a couple of years it almost completely stopped.

the marriage did not last much longer i thought it was because we just grew apart and i became uninterested.

I have been wondering if it is just my marriage, but have been afraid to ask! I don't think it's a JW thing. But I'm not sure if it is "everybody".

It is so depressing to think that ALL marriages end up sex-less in the end. Or that sex will be just once or twice a month. Kill me now

Anyone here with CFS.....need help with questions

for the last ..um i'd say about 3-4 weeks...i have been soooooo tired all the time...like i haven't been sleeping.

i feel like my head is in a fog all the time and can't think very clearly.

feel drugged actually.

As someone else said, they'll have to rule out lots of more common things first.

Anemia (periods been heavy lately? blood in stool? bleeding ulcer?)

Thyroid problem (diagnosed with blood testing, but other symptoms besides fatigue are wt gain, slow heart rate, change in texture of hair/skin/nails)

Depression (lack of energy? loss of interest in things you're normally interested in?)

If your labs show changes in white blood cells, this may be sx of mono or chronic fatigue syndrome. Of course not much treatment for CFS. Get plenty of rest. Eat healthy. Exercise regularly. Reduce stress.

My sister had CFS. She was not only always tired, but also always sick. She finally had her tonsils removed, which helped. She also got married to a nicer guy than her first husband, and also went back to school so that her new career is less stressful and less physically challenging. She's a lot better now. She had a baby who is a real cutie, so I think all that helped. (Not that that is the cure!)
