How long will it take to be reinstated?
by blindfool inok, heres my question for all the ex-elders out there.. it will be announced thursday that my niece will be disfellowshipped.. the circumstances are not important to this discussion, but she is .
remorseful for her actions and has taken steps so it will not happen again.
she actually made a lot of sacrifices to try to make her mistake right.

OK, heres my question for all the ex-elders out there.
It will be announced Thursday that my niece will be disfellowshipped.
The circumstances are not important to this discussion, but she is
remorseful for her actions and has taken steps so it will not happen again. She actually made a lot of sacrifices to try to make her mistake right. Its not hard to figure out her mistake, she's single and 22 years old, use your imagination. She is a loyal witness. She has spent a lot of time in service, but she made a mistake.
From what I understand, she wants to do everything she can to get back in the fold.
So, how long will it take? Can the JW's really affort to be losing good loyal members?

Can U Answer a Really Hard ? from any JW?
by Mindchild ini was thinking today that many of us ex-dubs are fairly capable of holding our own when conversing with an active witness about anything jw related.
if we dont have an immediate answer, it isnt difficult to find a ex-jw website that has a lot of good information we could use for finding an answer fairly quickly.
having said this though, i think there are some questions that a jw could ask you that might be a lot tougher to answer, websites or not.

I agree with Little Toe.
Answering questions from JW's is hard because they can't accept the answers. A closed mind is hard to debate with. -

this website
by little_lamb_on_a_hill ini just stumbled onto this website whilst messing about on the internet and i've taken exception to quite a lot of what i've seen here.
incase you think i'm some irate jehovah's witness idiot who's been offended by the terrible blasphemy that he's read on here, i'm not.
i was raised a jw, but now i'm not one.. first of all, given the url, i thought this website was in some way affiliated with the jehovah's witness organization, whereas in reality it seems from the posts i've read that most people here are either former jehovah's witnesses or soon-to-be former jehovah's witnesses.

Little-Lamb,
Imbue explains why you are not shunned. You were never babtized.
This is the point where JW's are not allowed free thought. They must submit to the will of the Governing Body. They will tell you that they follow the faithful and descreet slave, but how many anointed persons are allowed to write Watchtower articles? You should be thankful that you never were babtized.
Anyone thinking of joining the JW ranks should be very careful of this important step.

Mr. Biggs,
Your story is fascinating . Your brother goes to college then comes home and encourages you to return to the meetings, only to be shunned. My new favorite motto: "How Rude!!"
Keep up the writing, I'm looking forward to hearing the rest of your story.
BDF!

why I like this web site
by blindfool ini thought about posting this topic earlier today and decided not to.. but after reading little-lamb-on-a-hill i thought, what the heck?.
yesterday, my eight year old son had some minor surgery, nothing serious, very minor, but you know how the doctors tell you how even minor surgery can take a serious turn.
well, i started to imagine all the things that could go wrong and of course thought of the blood issue.

I thought about posting this topic earlier today and decided not to.
But after reading little-lamb-on-a-hill I thought, what the heck?Yesterday, my eight year old son had some minor surgery, nothing serious, very minor, but you know how the doctors tell you how even minor surgery can take a serious turn.
Well, I started to imagine all the things that could go wrong and of course thought of the blood issue. What would I do if my son needed blood. Would this destroy my marriage if I allowed my son to have a blood transfusion? My wife would be getting presure from her congragation and family and I'd be there with no one understanding my thoughts.
Then I thought, I'll just find a computer with an internet connection, go onto JW.com and let my new friends help me and comfort me. They know what its like. They know what I'd be going through.
My son would be OK because I'd do anything I had to for him to be well.Well, as you guessed it, nothing happened, the surgery went great. I'm at home with him today and he's playing video games and I'm surfing the net.
I just thought I'd let everyone know what I feel is important here. That we can talk and help each other in times of need. Thanks Simon, keep up the good work. And thanks to all my other friends out there for being there.
