Removed - blood card

i overheard a discussion between two jws, they said that when someone is disfellowshipped, they are asked to hand their blood card back to the elders.

i had never heard of this before, is this correct?.

The "blood" card was updated at one point, so current jws at that time were "encouraged "to get the new one throw away the old one. But not required returned from d'fd by elders. Meeting Workbook January 2024 Durable Power of Attorney (DPA) Card and Identity Card (ic): These cards outline a patient’s wishes concerning the medical use of blood. Baptized publishers can obtain from the literature servant a DPA card for themselves as well as an Identity Card for their minor children. These cards should be kept on our person at all times. If you need to fill one out or update one, do not procrastinate."

Because the WTS has constantly "adjusted" this document, the WTS wants the individual jw to have the most current, so the medical/legal community is not "confused" and everyone is on the same page, and destroy the old one. Does anyone remember when new cards were handed out at the old book study (small groups) and fill it out there and have the conductor sign it? WTS taking control of having it done.

1922 Cedar Point Ohio Convention

i recall reading that daniel 12 verse 12 ( 12 blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.

), was claimed to have been fulfilled by the cedar point ohio convention in 1922.. can anybody recall which publications this claim was published in please?.

That is the most recent I found on 1,335 days. This is a teaching that has fallen by the wayside, rather than "clarified" like the 7,000 year creative day, last mentioned in 1989 quoting from a 1987 publication. Books were edited to "correct" so that the WTS "encouraged" jws to get new copies rather than use older one! The links are linked to an ex-jw site, owner is an ex-Bethelite whose father is/was a circuit overseer. It is a timeline with quotes from WT publications and where it can be found in those.

Beth Sarim, I was surprised it was that long ago. The CLAM is a joke more than any other WTS publications. Definitely, snoozeville, WTS trying to get old-time jws to do an effective way of making converts. A few years ago, the congregation overseer did a run down of number of bible with people other than children of jws, and it was only one, for 1 year with 100 publishers. And that one had just been df'd. Not surprised September 2024 was a special month offering bible studies to non-jws. I wonder how that turned out.

It is not part of the official WTS policy, not in print in their publications. But if individual elders might make this necessary, I can believe that. Elders don't always listen to the WTS and make their own rules. Of course, that might get them in trouble with the WTS if the WTS finds out.

yes, persecution for religious beliefs is not exclusive to the watchtower organization.

DOC, yes it would. The WTS think that persecution means the are the only true religion, but they fail to mention that it is happening to other religions.

Wythenshawe Kingdom Hall - Sold

i was slightly surprised to see that wythenshawe hall has been sold.

it's now a mosque.

this one had an attached flat where the co and his wife lived, i wonder what accommodation they put them in these days..

a watcher, I was talking about both, The closest KH to me has a separate small house connected to the KH but had to make it so that the congregation was not paid directly. Another brother paid the rent for the person living there, and that person then donated it to the congregation/WTS.

Yes, men are no longer "reaching out" so they have to catch the males in the congregation early. In some areas, elders have "stepped down" by their own choice and the can't guilt them to get reappointed. Also, the elder age group and dying or their faculties are much good.

Snakes, I do know that the conventions have been broken down to smaller groups (not just foreign languages) in the assembly halls. I live very near an assembly hall and they had scheduled at least 3 during the summer when no circuit assemblies tend to be scheduled. I live near a kingdom hall, and they had it set up like that. So I'm thinking they still have assignments. Used to be printed in the old kingdom ministry, I wonder if they just read a letter at the midweek meeting and post it on the information board?
