I was going D2D one day, alone but with a group. I knocked and a very angry man came to the door. He said, "Why do you people kick out your children when they become pregnant out of wedlock! My neighbor kicked out his 15 year old daughter and told her to fend for herself!" I was stunned, I had never known a jw that did that, but then there were jws that had their own "standards" that did not agree with the official for the public knowledge version. He said he had taken her into his family's home and called social services to get this young woman help. I said I would do all I could to help since I worked with Child Services. I am sure that many and everyone he knew got the real picture about jws. Things worked out, they found a nice family for her and I ran interference with the jws from my official capacity. I was so embarrassed, one more step towards leaving the WTS for me.

Disfellowshipping and Excutions
by blondie in*w60 2/1 80 - 17 there may be rare instances where a child is so hardened in its stubbornness that even the rod of correction cannot drive it out.
in the days of israel parents were instructed by jehovah to take such a rebel to the city fathers and they, in turn, took the incorrigible one out and stoned him to death.
there were no juvenile delinquents under such a system.

I think outside the realm of the WTS and members and ex-members, the child sexual abuse problem in religions is see as a much larger problem than just the WTS, larger religious organizations, probably giving more attention to those religious groups. I try to remember that the fight child sexual abuse is more than religions but other larger groups like the Boy Scouts, and hiding it. I give my time and energy to fighting the larger problem supporting groups in my area. Children have to be protected regardless of who their abusers are. But since the WTS says they are the only true religion and lie about hiding sexual abuse of children, and jws are affected by the WTS, I understand the feeling that the WTS is wicked. But pedophiles are everywhere, and that danger should also be acknowledged and make sure pedophiles outside the WTS don't make victims of our children.

I vividly remember a JW Elder proudly tell me they kicked their 15 yr old daughter out of the home. Whaaaaattt???!!!! That is child abuse. I was flabbergasted.
(And it is illegal according to the government to kick out a minor (under 18).

Just a blanket apology to all the people sexually abused by members of their religion.. What individual support for the victims/survivors?

Thanking Jehovah God for Sports
by Sea Breeze inserena william's thanks jehovah god for allowing her to participate in sports.
how nice.
my jw parents followed the rules and thought they were doing jehovahs will by denying me participation in sports.

I wonder if she really knows that professional sports is frowned on by the WTS. After all, she did not get baptized until she LEFT professional sports.

In the days of Israel parents were instructed by Jehovah to take such a rebel to the city fathers and they, in turn, took the incorrigible one out and stoned him to death. There were no juvenile delinquents under such a system. (Deut. 21:18-21) So also today, the New World society of Jehovah's witnesses can not and will not tolerate juvenile delinquency to exist in its midst. So, to avoid a possible death-dealing blow by being disfellowshiped from the congregation.
Or WT 1952 11/25 p. 703
Being limited by the laws of the worldly nation in which we live and also by the laws of God through Jesus Christ, we can take action against apostates only to a certain extent, that is, consistent with both sets of laws. The law of the land and God’s law through Christ forbid us to kill apostates, even though they be members of our own flesh-and-blood family relationship. However, God’s law requires us to recognize their being disfellowshiped from his congregation, and this despite the fact that the law of the land in which we live requires us under some natural obligation to live with and have dealings with such apostates under the same roof
From this I understand that disfellowshipping that the person should be treated as if they were dead and continues that concept by saying thus a disfellowshipped person should not be spoken to or treated like they are live. I wonder if they still believe this.

The only place "A Jehovah's Witness" comes up in WT publications is from quotes by non-jws. It is an unwritten rule that it is proper per the WTS to use "one of Jehovah's witnesses" rather than "A Jehovah's Witness." They want it reflect it as meaning an individual, not a religious group name. Jws were called Russellites and Rutherfordites in the past not liked by the WTS. Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is one way the WTS has in recent years tried to re-identify themselves. (BTW reporting not supporting) It was not rare that some self-righteous would correct jws that said "A Jehovah's Witness." Straining out the gnat while gulping down the camel.
