I agree Dssynergy, It does not apply to our day and Jesus never said it had a greater fullfillment. Every thing has to have a greater fullfillment for the WTS so they can go on and on with their lies.

New light: Generation
by 5thGeneration ingot some info from the annual meeting.. unofficially, the 'generation' is now categorized as 2 groups.
the first is 'the 1914 group' and the second is the younger anointed 'contemporaries' who 'actually work for a period of time with those anointed ones'.. the 'generation' is now 'the lifespan of those who actually saw the beginning of the sign and then the lifespan of those who worked with those who saw the beginning of the sign'.. here we go again....

Christian subject I don't understand, can anyone explain?

so tonight i was reading about conspiracy theories and new world orders and how obama is the antichrist, so on and so forth, so my questions that i can't figure out are these:.
if "the antichrist" exists, and just for the sake of argument, obama was he, shouldn't all the christians have voted for him?

Does Our Being Former JWs Affect Our Enjoyment of XMas?
by minimus ini went to 2 parties yesterday.
i actually was invited to 4 this year.. i started out at my daughter's at 7:30 a.m. and my daughter, sil, 2 grandkids and my ex gave presents to one another.
95% of the gifts were for my 2 year old grandaughter because it was really her first xmas to unwrap presents and get into the "spirit".. then i went in the afternoon to my gf's and they had a big spread and we (once again) exchanged gifts.. here's my bottom line: i enjoyed the family and friends getting together.

Daniel 9:2.... 70 years question
by digderidoo insorry to rehash an old topic.. in the first year of his reign, i, daniel, understood from the scriptures, according to the word of the lord given to jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of jerusalem would last seventy years.
daniel is clearly speaking of jeremiah 25, but here he speaks of the desolation of jerusalem, rather than a babylonian dominance of jeremiah.. so how does daniel fit in with a 587/6 date for the destruction of jerusalem and the dominance of the babylonian empire refered to in jeremiah?.

I guess the WTS did not know what they were talking about when they printed the Vol. 1 Isaiah's Prophecy. Page 253, paragraph 21, states "the 70 years represents the period of Babylonia's greatest domination. Different Nations come under that domination at different times. But at the end of 70 years, that domination will crumble." tHE WTS SAYS kING NEB. 1ST YEAR WAS 624, The Bible says it was in King Neb. 19th year when Jerusalem was desolated. (2Kings 25:8-9) (Jeremiaha 52:11-12) You can not get 607 using 624. 18 years from 624=606. So Jerualem did not lay desolated for 70 years and you can't use 607 for 1914. History and the Bible agree. Babylon fell in 539 add 70 years =609 for the start of Babylon's world power. Simple if you want the truth.

we started talking about religion.
i'm not going to go into everything we talk about but i told my mom that i found other religions that taught some of the same things the witnesses did and that they also preach like the witnesses.

Wish I could help you on that article, but I'm not sure there is a later one. It is easy to prove them wrong on 607. With one scripture at 2Kings 25:8-9. WTS says 624 for King Neb. 1st year. Take 18 more years away from 624=606. They can't have 1914 OR say Jerusalem lay desolated for 70 years without 607. Jeremiah 52: 12-13 also says it was King Neb. 19th year when Jerusalem was desolated. Watchtower, Dec. 1,1991 says, "A religion that teaches lies can not be true."

Baptism numbers decreasing?
by Mattieu inthe last 3 weekends have seen 3 circuit assemblies in victoria with over 1000 attending each circuit.
yet only 10 baptised over the last 3 weeks, including 3 last weekend.
i can remember a few years ago when only 1 bro was baptised at a 2 day convention.. its funny, when 10-20 were being baptised at each circuit assembly back in the 1980s & early 90s it was always brought out that this was a sign of jehovahs blessing upon the org.

Most that are getting Baptized here are the children of the JWs. two were only 11 years old.
