I share my birthday with Madonna.
Elvis died the day I turned 17.

when my husband was convinced to be baptized back in '74, the jw who studied with my husband went with him to meet with the elders.
when the elder asked for my husband's birthday for his records, he said nov 12 and the jw says "not my birthday, he wants yours".
my husband says, "it is mine".

i am completely surprised by the amount of posts over the last couple of weeks of people (lurkers) signing up to the board and introducing themselves.
most still part of the jw cult, but thinking for themselves and wanting real answers.
i?m still a newbie to the board so i would like to know if this is common.
Can't wait for the post.
Any chance of a pre-release version?

those of you who saw my threads, know that my grandpa was going to die.
you may also remember the fact
that he went from the catholic religion to jw"s, may have had this wrong at first, but in 2003. we discussed the fact
Only you can decide what is right for you. And your personal reasons should remain valid for you.
Sorry to hear about your grandpa but glad for you that your family showed they care.

my thoughts.... "oh look, sng took down his cute little geeky boy pic and put up a boy-toy actor pic..... .
...wait a minute..... .

after leaving jw, being a former regular pioneer for many years, i wanted to still help others is a meaningful way.
this year i am raising money for the leukemia & lymphoma society.
i am training to run a marathon, 26.2 miles as part of my fund raising.
Sounds like a form letter to me.
but we do want to respond to your letter regarding your running in the Country Music Marathon
{Isn't it the Leukemia and Lymphoma society that you are running for?}
I might guess that they send to any and everyone who solicits a donation from them. It's service time to them and you gave them that opportunity.
Oh! Right. You were a pioneer so you probably understand the importance of getting in your time however possible.
I don't think I'd resond with anything more than a 'thank you for your generous contribution'.

i am always teasing my wife about having a "country club" upbringing as a witness.. in the hall i grew up in, and those i attended for a few years after turning 18, were pretty hard core.
i tease her about how easy she had it.
which, in my mind was clearly the case, but that is another story.. this case involves going out in service.. in my halls, you went out almost regardless of weather.
My experience for 2 decades was like yours, with one exception.
Time didn't start counting until it was YOUR door.
ARRGGGHHH!! So much wasted time...

there has been a few new to board so what's one more?
i've been reading the board for a few weeks and i'm impressed at the amount of research that goes into many of postings.
there are two topics that really get me going, one is "607 bce".
Hi There!
Welcome to the Board. Glad you dropped a line to introduce yourself.

after tons of research and finding a killer deal (the real reason), i decided i'm going to the mayan riviera and i'm staying at the grand palladium.
it's rated 4 stars on expedia and 5 golden apples by apple vacations.
looks really nice.
I was there a few years ago for my 'Happy-End-of-Chemo' celebration.
We had a great time (although I was still too tired to do much actual partying)
Xcaret was Fantastic. If you go, plan to stay for the evening. Xcaret at Night! is an entirely different place...
LaHabichuela is a nice romantic restaurant downtown. Little difficult to find but well worth the adventure. If you go, be sure to order the Mayan Coffee.
What ever you do, I know you will have a great time. Haven't heard anyone come home disappointed.

PS Save some money for Apostafest in Vegas in October... Right? :-)

Mayan Riviera?
Where is that? Sounds like in or around Cancun...?
