too many trolls here lately, y'all need a giggle.
i got an email today with a bunch of funny bumper stickers but this one seemed so appropriate for this board.
seemed like it could apply to door knocking and trolling apostate websites.. okay, i thought i could post the image but i can't because i can't remember my password for ftp to my website (don't ask...lol) and i guess only pictures that can be plugged in have to be links to pics (makes sense now that i know it has to be on some web server).

researchers at the university of michigan hae developed a software program that purports to replicate the process of random selection and that incontrovertibly proves evolution.
it's named avida, and is freely available via internet download.
it's all explained in the february issue of discover magazine.
frankiespeakin: we hurt our selve very bad to do this we must respect our geting here and honor the others not human.
I agree frankie. It was the same in the European Dark and Middle Ages and other cultures in times past, no honor for other life forms. I think the worst part about the wastefulness of life in our society is the lack of respect for life it engenders. Human life is also devalued by that lack of respect.
In my opinion, your perspective is both spiritual and logical.

edit: Or it could just be that ... self-rolled cigarette ... you just smoked. I dunno for sure which.

AA: So in competition for the resources of the environment.
Ultimately, in the competition for resources the humans win every time in every environment we've ever encountered. It may take a minute or two, geologically speaking, but history shows we tend to figure out very ingenious ways to survive as a species in almost all circumstances.
My money is on the man to kick the ape's a- ... well, you get the idea. In my opinion, without any attempt to take away from the thoughts of others, people who say, "Why is the ape still here?" aren't looking far enough ahead and asking the more important question: "Will the ape continue to be here?" The likely answer given our history as a species, is no.

here's good bedtime story for the little ones!.
remember jeptha and his beautiful daughter that was his only child?.
just to set the theme: the ammonites took over israels land while they were in bondage in egypt.
If not for the fact that I would only want to offer the best, I could think of a few I wouldn't mind offering ... of course, there's some that wouldn't think twice before offering me, too.
my name is jaron, 19 years old, i'm from the netherlands, and in about a month i am going to start joining the jw's meetings and i'm kind of looking forward to become a jw.
i can of course tell ya'll my entire spiritual story, but that would take an entire bookwork.
in a nuttshell: my father is an ex-jw, my half-sis (from an earlier marriage from my dads) is one of those "special pioneers", and i am jewish (my mom is jewish).
Delta: I will be 'defending' what you guys say and what I read here when i talk to the JW's.
I believe you are candidly honest and you mean to stick by this statement. If so, then I dare say you will not progress to baptism. Ask a relative to let you see the questions for baptism (not just the two for the day of, the ones in the Appendices of the "Organized to Accomplish Our Ministry" book). Read them, look up the Scriptures, and think about whether you can honestly answer them in a way that would get you baptized.
Delta: I don't believe in brainwashing.
Do you believe in Pavlovian conditioned responses? If you understand the principles of it, you will know it for what it is if you see the signs. Reward and punishment. The love displayed is usually entirely conditional and is offered and withdrawn as a means of producing the desired actions, shadow and some few others being exceptions to that general reality. In no time at all, a matter of months in some cases, they have people conditioned to figuratively salivate on command.
Delta: But I have never ever, not in a synagoge, not in any other church, not with the mormons, not in India or in Buddhism, seen what I see in the JW's.
If you mean the unity, I agree with you (see Pavlovian conditioned responses). It is not necessarily the same on the inside of the individual Witness as the picture displayed on the box.
As long as you go in with eyes open and you don't let anyone close them for you, you'll be fine. I've been in, awake, and trying to change things for 15 years. I doubt anyone will ever change the Organization from the bottom, but I sure wouldn't mind anyone giving the ol' college try!
More power to you, Delta. Fallback position will be ready and waiting, if needed.

Hello Jaron ... one thing you are not so likely to find here is people who want to tell you what to think. In my experience, almost every religion has success stories of those rescued from various vices and the clutches of this or that. If you just keep an open mind, don't let your questions be brushed aside, and make sure the answers are based in a source you personally have confidence in, you should be fine.

My argument for intelligent design of life is the evidence of incredible variety of form and function from an incredibly simple base. I have seen similarities between computer software and life ever since I learned how software was made.
From simple language elements (the simplest actual "programming languages" may have no more than thirty commands) a wide variety of applications can be developed meeting a host of demands. These applications can be modified to adapt to a different environmental requirement. Using more complex languages with more language elements, can even "learn" to adapt on their own to changing conditions in their environment. All from 0s and 1s.
Parallel? I see a striking one. All life, from all kingdoms of recognized life, is formed from DNA, comprised of variously arranged codons of TGAC. With very few exceptions (usually in the arena of variance in which codon prompts the use of which acid) all cellular life maintains and replicates itself using mRNA comprised of UGAC.
A very simple codeset producing an mind-bogglingly incredible variety of lifeforms - plant, animal, and difficult to classify. Until humans started writing computer code, a similar comparison could not be drawn between any product of man's design and the origination of life. We now know for a certainty, wide variety in form and function from a very simple basis is a mark of human design - whether it is also a mark of design for life is for each individual to decide.

WELCOME!! Do not lose hope or heart. I can tell you are truly taking the lead, but hopefully she will eventually be strong enough mentally and emotionally that you won't have to.
My wife just floored me yesterday with an admission (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/9/84742/1.ashx). I will gladly share everything I have done to help her wake up. There might be some nuggets that would help you.

Tepic, Peter answered his own question: "You have sayings of everlasting life." In my opinion, there never has been a "what" to go to or away from, and the "who" we go to is only in terms of imitation.
I would be happy to discuss further by PM, if you like.

Guest77 as Golf: Anyone who finds negativity in this story is brain dead! It's a beautiful and a thought provoking story.
I agree. I think the story is adorable no matter what they credit the longevity of their marriage to. If they wren't JWs they would credit it to something.
"We?ve been loyal to each other, and that?s a very, very important trait," said Crystal, 91. "My husband has been very kind and has always treated me with respect."
The real key ... guys, that's really all there is to it. You can find justification to treat anyone unkindly or without respect, this man is a model for us husbands if after so long his wife says this of him. In my opinion, anyway.
