  I don't demand that what I have experienced has to be demonstrable to you for it to be real. You cannot demonstrate the color "green" to a man born color-blind, can you?

  Does it not exist because you can't demonstrate it to him? Of course it does. It may not exist within his perspective of reality, but it certainly exists in mine. How sad it would seem to you, who can see green, to hear such a man deny its existence just because he can't see it.

  There is much that we cannot demonstrate to certain humans, given their inability to perceive certain aspects of reality, that makes them no less real. Try demonstrating a birdsong to a deaf person.

  Viewing yourself as having a limited perspective is no doubt uncomfortable for you, I can understand that.

  But, you insist on using physical evidence to prove and disprove. So, in your premise you exclude the possibility of proof of God, because you restrict the means by which such proof can qualify as proof. Conversely, you cannot use physical evidence to disprove the existence of that which is not physical.

  That said, if you can use the Scientific Method produce SOLID physical evidence of the non-existence of God, I will be your slave for the rest of my life, and so will my children, and my children's children to the third generation and to the fourth. For, if you can prove a negative without stepping outside the bounds of the Scientific Method in so doing, you would indeed be remarkable.

  It is logically impossible to prove the non-existence of something.

  Do you blame BUSH?

  i know bush is not a popular president.

  i am a registered independent, used to be a republican, and i am not a huge fan of bush.

  in many ways i wish i had another choice in the last election, other then kerry.

  I have tried to start a grass roots effort to educate people that the electoral vote distribution is what prevents every vote from counting. This would have to change at the level of State Legislatures.

  Watchtower Gives Up Explaining 607 BCE Date!

  this is a very important observation, that the watchtower has not tried to explain in print why 607 bce is the year for the destruction of jerusalem for the last 17 years!!!.

  all that the watchtower has done over most of the last two decades is to repeat over and over the year "607bce" in its publications as if it is an unquestioned fact!.

  the last time an explaination for the year was attempted by the watchtower was in 1988 when the "insight" volumes were published, but since then, no explaination for the validity of the year has appeared in print.. this must mean something, but what?

  Did you realize there is not a single verse in Jeremiah 25:8-17 that even MENTIONS Judah and Jerusalem? When it gets to the part where they are mentioned, they mentioned along with ALL THE REST of the nations.

  Are you really unable to read the Bible? Do they have that strong a hold over your mind?

  However, such extra dimensions are not newly proposed. Reimann-Kaluza viewed space implicitly in terms of greater than 3s·1t. Einstein's models made extensive use of extra dimensions which can only be explored through their mathematical impacts on our own perceptions.

  HL, that was especially wierd given that a FEMA analysis of this exact same scenario yielded a result indicating that should a cat 4 or 5 hit NO that Lousiana was not prepared to deal with it. Respectfully,

  " i wondered, how could the speaker possibly back up such a claim?

  Little Toe: You mean, before the Christian congregation was established? Well, Jesus and any who confessed him as Christ were expelled from the synagogue (disfellowshipped) weren't they (John 9:22)?

  on page 146 of what does the bible really teach?, the opening sentence of paragraph 6 purports to represent one of the six criteria for determining the true religion.

  it reads: "god's servants base their teachings on the bible.".

  AK-Jeff,

  Your points are well taken. But defd has also disclaimed feeling any need to answer insincere questions. His interpretation of "insincere" may not match the interpretation of the asker, and it may even be a convenient trick of cognitive dissonance to allow avoidance of troubling thoughts,

  I consider defd to be honorable and intelligent. I can fully understand, from his perspective, why he might be hesitant to respond to questions, especially if he believes the asker is either insincere or has already firmly decided how they view things. In my case, he has agreed to reply but has asked for a postponement until tomorrow because his shift is over.

  I have scoured the CD-ROM and questioned everyone short of a District Overseer, but that is certainly not proof of non-existence when it comes to Scriptural support for these teachings. I hope defd makes a diligent search for Scriptural support. I hope for defd's sake that he is able to find Scriptural proof, but I don't expect it. And I really won't mind if he just PMs me tomorrow to tell me he can't support them Scripturally.

  I wish everyone could remember what it is like to walk in defd's shoes and find their empathy by imagining his life.
