The "economy" never really existed since the bartering days passed, real goods for real goods valued at the recipient's discretion. How can an immaterial abstract concept collapse? Only in the imagination of people. Anyone who trades control of the WTS for control of economic indicators has made a trade from imagined control to imagined control.

i wanted to showcase a hugely funny site i found when researching creationists' views.

I must not be among the computer elite. I had no idea that the new Macs were "based on Darwinism." I also had no idea that "Open Source" was another name for an economic structure based around the idea of collective ownership of property, as opposed to individual ownership, and the organization of labor to advance the welfare of all members. I thought "Corporation" was another name for "Communism."

MrsElmo: Omg. This site is just irking me to NO end. As a present day anthropologist, reading some of their "Evolution debunked" articles just made me MAD. Thanks for the link.. and the eye thing was funny as further proof of JW circular reasoning.. even so.. this one BUGS me.
Not too sure that was a JW Web site. Odd name, if so. "jesussave.us" doesn't sound like something a Witness would name a Web site.
Most people who try to debunk evolution simply cannot wrap their brains around the concept of billions of years, much less the effects billions of years can have on things.

BlackSheep: If I had been in your position I would have stayed 'in' asking all of the questions that JWs cannot answer, refusing to accept,"because it's the Truth"/"these people are Bible scholars" as answers and insisting on honest evidence.
He has an excellent point, OklaX. Someone in your situation, if you can stomach it, has a very unique opportunity to wake a lot of people up with sincere questions. Make sure their answers are coming from the Bible (there are many answers that cannot).
If you are baptized you can reject the teachings before your 18th birthday, no harm no foul organizationally. You cannot enter into a legally binding contract before age of maturity. That gives you something over a year of liberty to question, an option that many of us wish we had taken better advantage of.

But don't thank us for your exercise of good judgment. We can only lead you to reason, we can't make you drink. Give yourself a pat on the back that you overcame so many prejudices and decided to weigh other arguments fairly despite direct orders against doing so, from WTS.

I happen to know a man over 80 years of age who was trained thoroughly in the art of unwilling hypnosis. It is not necessary to want to be hypnotized and it is not necessary to want to do what you will do. It is only necessary that you believe you want to.
