Intresting point Dan the man. Which brings us to the futility of blaming Katrina on Bush's not following the Kyoto protocols. Even if Bush had followed it through, there is no way that reducing our emissions of CO2 would've prevented Katrina. It took a long time to get where we are, it would take an even longer time to have any real effect if we did change things. And that assumes that Human efforts are the problem/solution. On principle, I am one "right-wing Bible-thumping fundamentalist" who thinks we should make a real effort to reduce our use of hydrocarbon based fuels. From my point of view, we were placed in a stewardship of the earth and have been doing a mighty poor job of it. In the long term we would be better off if we kept that stewardship in mind and quit fouling our nest. But wrecking our economy is not the way to go about it. It took a while to build our economy, and it is going to take awhile to make the neede3d changes. We need to insist on viable alternative and use them when they become availble. It can be done. The thing to realize is that Rehnquist was what you guys call a "right wing idiot." So Bush won't be changing a thing on this nomination if he appoints another conservative. what you can look out for is a real catfight in the Senate. Since the current tradition is to elevate a sitting Justice to the Chief Justice postition and the only ones he is likely to pick from are Justice Scalia and Justice Thomas, the fur is going to fly!
By the way, I condsider extreme left wingers, such as Ginsburg, to be idiots as well. Either extreme, left or right, is idiotic IMHO.

" dr. sternberg's home page discusses the recriminations he faced by certain members of the evolutionary establishment after publishing an arcticle by another person advocating the possibilty of intelligent design in the peer reviewed journal.

True, he may have qualified that before he submitted the post, but he could've eliminated the accusation before doing so just as well. Besides, his qualification was insincere and condescending as well:
"I'm finally wondering, just before I hit the Submit button, if you're a true troll, or just someone silly enough to try to act like a troll."
Hooberus sought to make the point that evolutionists are just as intolerant of other opinons as they claim the fundamentalists are. I used Alan to make the point and he fell right into the trap. I don't think that qualifies me as a troll. In fact, I think that to suggest that I am and to threaten to smear me as one (see the first quote) makes the point quite authoritatively.
