i have thought about putting togther an apostaglossary to identify those particular sayings and their true meaning; i have included a few to start the ball rolling;.

i finally figured out why i'm so socially retarded...it just hit me.. here i was sitting and wondering why i have such a hard time meeting new people, making friends, thinking of relevent things to say, and so on.

it really is painful and scary for me.

i was told who i could talk to, who i couldn't talk to, what i could say, what i couldn't say.

The structure of the congregation is the reason some people are screwed up socially. That is a fact. The only way a person isnt affected by it is if they are not playing by the rules. Sure you can have JW friends in your congregation and surrounding ones, but they are circumstantial friends.

Therein lies the problem. As ex witnesses we now have very little in common with witnesses and are not sure what we have in common with worldlings. The only way I turned out somewhat normal is that I rebeled and had worldly friends in highschool.. I developed social skills because I rebeled. Some members of my family are really finding it tough to make the transition after leaving the borg. Its a real problem and it takes a lot of time. I really understand this one.. I always encourage my family to stay outside of their comfort zone socially and to set little goals for themselves that they can attain. KEEP WORKING AT IT. It gets better with time and you will find really nice friends outside of that organization! Great topic.

so i was out working in my yard the other day.

i've met a lot of my neighbors that i didn't know recently, because as i'm working in the yard, they stop by to chat as they're walking the dog, etc.

i'm really getting to know the neighborhood.

JW's are not Christians

i've noticed on this forum that a fair few ex-jw's still refer to the members of the non-christain cult known as the jehovah's witneses as christians.

im aware that current members may wrongly believe they are in fact christians because the organisation leads them to believe they are serving god.

but for ex-members who are awake to the false teachings of this non-christain organisation, i thought they may be more prudent in their choice of words, and not refer to them as christians.

Most of the Christians I've met arent "Christian" as far as I'm concerned, whatever that means anyway. I've met athiest's who act more like Jesus did then most Christians I know.

Baptize 'em young, keep 'em outta Sports - My notes from the last assembly

i had heard of accounts of young baptisms, but i figured it was the exception rather than the rule.

now i wonder, after viewing the models of youth paraded at the last assembly.

i took note of the ages and age of baptism of the five young men (no girls this time) who were interviewed as models of jw youth at this last week's assembly.

I was this same type of kid. "Pioneering", had a part in a drama, did demonstrations at assemblies. As a kid you think you are just the cat's ass and are really "advancing". All thats really happening is you are screwing yourself over later in life. Those kids up in the bleachers goofing off have a much better chance of getting out of the shit better equiped socially to deal with life then the kids on stage.

i have been studying the bible seriously since my teens, about 15+ years.

then it hit me about 6 months ago, i?m not really studying the bible, but rather the wt publications.

A comment I heard tonight

tonight i heard one of the most cruel and twisted comments i've ever heard at the platform.

the topic was the apocalypse and whether or not children will be slaughtered.

through one side of his mouth, the po stated that the bible is not clear on the matter, while out the other side he pointed to all those old testament accounts where children were killed.
