Xmas is awesome! All those pretty lights to trip out to, time off work, and a calm peaceful time to just chill out and sip eggnog. I don't watch television so I'm not really affected by all the advertising mania and I don't live anywhere near my family so I don't have to deal with politics. You just need to find a way to personalize it and make it fun.

Experiences at the meetings

since i still go to meetings i am going to post some thoughts about what i see and hear to refresh apostate memories of what glorious experiences you are missing out on these days.

yesterday we had the book study, the boredom of the study itself was only alleviated by two incidents, one sad and the other strange.... there is a sister who is bi-polar and comes infrequently who was there.

she was called to give an answer and started crying into the microphone.

DRUNKENESS AND ALCOHOL IN THE CONGREGATIONS

Pretty much all of my old dub friends were hardcore boozers, and all were "reaching out for privileges in the congregation". Camping was even more bizarre then the usual obsessive weekend binge drinking. There were plenty of pioneers in that little clique and they all had the attitude that "what happens when camping, stays camping". The copious amounts of liquor consumed would make a regular person retch with nausea at the thought of drinking it all in a weekend. When everyone got back home it was regular dub life as usual.

before i quit going to the meetings just before they announced that someone was to be reinstated they would ask that the congregation not clap due to the seriousness of the situation.

i thought it was so pathetic.

do they still announce that now when some one is reinstated?.
