Your favorite Sunday breakfast

since i am about to partake (*smile*) in my favorite sunday breakfast, i thought it would be fun for everyone to describe their favorite breakfast here.. sunday breakfast was always a big deal for my family and growing up, it was the one day and time that we actually sat together had breakfast and talked about our week and sat for a good hour or so just catching up with each other.. for over 20 years, this breakfast consisted of bacon, sausage (kielbasa or italian), biscuits, eggs (cheese or plain), and grits.

to this day, i still feel it's a special nice time.. do share, i thought it would be fun to see other people's traditions on sunday breakfast....

Smoking = Disfellowshiping is it justified?? Do you do it now?

isn't smoking just as bad as "defiling the body our temple" with alcohol or drugs legal or illegal?

if i have glucoma will i be disfellowshiped if i smoke pot, since it is a doctor perscribed treatment?

those who smoke how do you justify ruining your health and finances?.

I can remember my mom and stepdad were smoking as witnesses and how they were all worked up about quiting or be disfellowshipped. Man I bet there were a bunch of stressed out witnesses back in the 70's especially when the end did not come after the org made all of them believe it was .

I asked several witnesses about this and a pastor of a baptist church, they all said that if a doctor prescribes it then it is justified.

They come in, make us feel guilty that we aren't going out in service enough, not enough hours, bookstudies etc, etc, etc. They constantly make us feel like we are not worthy

I think they forgot a few scriptures that say God judges us by our hearts, not by actions.

I was told once that you do not get Jehovahs spirit unless you are knocking on doors. That was about 1 month before leaving the org for good.

Accessibility to guns to blame for violence?

with all the talk about the increased violence in schools and among society, it still surprises me that the accessibility to guns argument often tends to trump the cultural argument.. maybe i'm out of touch but showing saw iii uncut on hbo at 10pm and releasing the most violent video games in history and the marketing of violent and perverse music, these are the things to me that desensitises young people first and then may trigger some hurt and unstable kids long before they go and buy a gun.. okay, ready to be blasted (pardon the pun)!.

I look at it this way. You either take all the guns away or you give everyone a gun. I prefer the later. Being a history buff back in the old west days even though tv makes it look like it was bad, there was not a lot of crime. People were afraid to commit crimes like today because everyone packed.

I think the same rule of thumb would apply today, if everyone carried a weapon there would be a whole lot less crime.

The UN is on the verge of banning religion - JWs favorite rumor

the un is on the verge of banning religion.. why is this rumor constantly being brought up by the jws?.

the un does not have the power to ban religion, such an act would go against its very charter and its declaration of human rights.. many of the member nations are islamic and would never vote to ban religion as it would undermine their own very existence.. so the idea that the un would or could ban or even consider banning religion is unrealistic.

never going to happen.. but the jws have been whispering that "the un is going to ban religion" for decades....why?

Have You Ever Reported An Abuser?

just wondering if any of you ever decided to report any kind of abuse, however small an incident it was.

tonight i reported an incident of 20 years ago to the authorities.

a man came up to me in london on the pretense that he was recruiting for christian dior and to cut a long story short we arranged to meet the next day for an interview.

Back in 1990 I had a friend who was my fishing buddy, we were really good friends. We had decided that we with his girlfriend would roommate together. So we went looking for a place to rent. It was about a week after we had moved into our new place and a friend of theirs asked them if they would watch her daughter. That evening she wanted to take a bath so he went into the bathroom and started her water. At the time I was talking to my mother on the phone and I had told my mother that they were in the bathroom for a long time. My mom was freaking out and told me to pay attention to what was going on. So that night when I went to bed I left my bedroom door open and decided to lay in wait and see if anything would happen. It was not even an hour after going to bed that I had heard my door being closed.

So I waited for a few minutes and got up and very carefully opened my door and tip toed down the hall, when I peaked around the corner I seen him there with a flashlight and her blanket up , he had his finger in her. He heard me so I went back to bed and that next mourning I packed my belongings and called the police. He spent 5 years for that and then I had heard that when he got out he offended again and is now still in prison. Right where he belongs.

Old Flame, I am so sorry!! I know what you feel like. YUK

This has got to be the worst flu bug I have ever experienced. I don't think I have hurt inside like this ever, last night I went through 3 tee shirts from sweating profusely. Can't sleep more than a couple of hours at a time, the nose is dumping fluid like a darn sieve. This is one nasty bug and I guarantee you there will be no more procrastinating next year I will be getting a flu shot.
