  Kingdom Halls and snow days

  it is snowing like crazy where i live and it common for churches and other places of worship to close for the safety of members.

  they usally alert folk on the morning news.

  Our meetings were cancelled very often in wintertime, especially the book study. The place I went to for the book study was on top of a huge hill. When the wind picked up, the snow drifts would be so bad, one could barely get there. In such situations, we would go to the KH for the book study, but even at the KH the study got cancelled quite often.

  i just stated reading a book called "the lovely bones" by alice sebold.

  i am beginning chapter 3. here is the excerpt from the inside cover:

  Nearly a week smoke-free, and I am MOODY!!!

  i've been off of cigarettes for almost a week now.

  i'm chewing nicotine gum like mad, but i can still feel myself melting down inside.

  the world seems like such a crummy place to be right now.

  My husband had a heart attack

  hello all, the last 24+ hours, i've been at the hospital.

  i took my husband in because he was having chest pains.

  come to find out his cardiac enzymes were elevated and his ekg was abnormal.

  oh yes! Sniff, I even catered his fiancee's bridal shower. I haven't seen them since I left a year ago, but he was always a very fine and pleasant young man. (Too young for me, actually).

  How complete are you?

  i have the full complement of body parts and organs including my tonsils, appendix, foreskin and 32 teeth.. is anybody else as complete as me?

  any funny stories on missing body parts?

  exploding appendix, foreskin stuck in a zipper etc.....

  About a quarter of my left knee is missing after a dog

  Geez FC, what a bad experience.

  Um, that was only the beginning. That same dog opened up my wrist (big scar now), and I have a total of 34 scars on my body all from the same dog. We grew up together, he was the best friend I had. He was shot while he was on top of me. And then people wonder why I am deadly afraid of dogs.

  About a quarter of my left knee is missing after a dog ripped it to pieces when I was 10.

  A total of 7 teeth pulled.

  Cut the knuckle of one of my fingers off with a meat slicer, they stitched it back on in the hospital and it is just fine now.

  and yet ezra's name means: "help"

  what caused nimord's mother to name him something that had such a negative meaning and yet he turned out to be just that?

  I made it as far as Sodom and Gomorrah, when I literally threw down my Bible in disgust at Lot's incest episode.

  Yeah. I was always disgusted by that too!
