Anyone know of Anti-jw tracts that can be downloaded?

JWs and moving
by rebel8 indid you ever notice that, when a dub moves, all the other dubs help?
i remember many a time when someone moved, the person would just pass it around to everyone in the kingkong hall, and they'd all show up to help.
those who had trucks were obligated to show up.

Yes, we had help moving (not asked for-they just showed up), and my husband helped so many times we lost count. Roofing was another thing-my husband spent so much time on hot, humid days helping others. I made the comment one time that we would hire ours done, because I couldn't see why we should expect brothers to do it for nothing. I just got that glazed-over, I can't understand where you are coming from look I was so used to getting.

Were you criticized for being outspoken & lacking tact?
by LongHairGal ini seemed to have a problem with the people there because i am outspoken.
(and this was all before i had any clues to how bad the whole thing was.
) i am just an outspoken person in general and my family (not dubs) are also outspoken.

Oh yes, constantly! Hence my username, since that was always my heinous "crime". It also got me into trouble when I said the 2 witness rule for child molestation was a farce, and let everyone know. I was apalled that families of young children could not be warned. I have always stated my opinion, and before I was baptized I had one elder say that he thought one day my outspokeness and trouble accepting a "woman's role" would get the better of me. After almost 3 years of thinking THEIR opinions of me were right and that there was something wrong with ME, I found this site and everything magically fell into place.

GIVE AN EXAMPLE of the best writing you've ever read
by Terry inis there one line of prose or poetry that stopped you dead in your tracks and haunted your mind for days on end?
is there a line, a paragraph or a book that feeds your soul and there is no end to its craving?

As I was exiting the cult, I still was plagued with doubts, foreboding, fear, etc. Then I came upon this quote by Aldous Huxley that made me stop cold-"Facts do not cease to be because they are ignored." It strengthened my resolve, since I was facing (and not wanting to believe) for the first time the true facts of the cult.

Were you invited to the Memorial?
by JH inhas anybody invited you to go to the memorial this year?
do you expect to be invited?.
usually elders come over a few days before to invite me, but they didn't come yet....

Yes, we expect we will be. And no--no letter. That would be just too delicious for them, I won't oblige. I do feel sorry the couple here Sunday, though. This particular elder genuinely cares, and we know how much he hurts in all this. We appreciate all he tried to do, and will always remember him with great affection.

We've not been DA'd or DF'd(unless it has been in the last month in abstensia, as that was the last time we actually talked to anyone), but decided that we don't care what happens anymore. Once we felt we could accept the label and the repercussions, we decided to go all out. We honestly couldn't live under the radar anymore-that was taking a bigger toll on us. Anyway, my husband even wore his new Silent Lamb tee shirt to work Saturday. Believe me, that was a biggie for us.

Yup-this past Sunday we recieved a visit. We didn't answer the door, as we were in the middle of an early dinner with our kids. Besides, I have been very vocal in the last few months about my feelings about the Watchtower, and I just wasn't in the mood for any confrontations. Funny thing-they must have felt funny about leaving it my paper box like they normally do-it must have been my "Stop Watchtower Abuse" sticker I just put on it this week! So the invite was in the door jam. And now I've been getting lots of phone calls since then that only say private name-private number on the caller ID. Hmmmmm-wonder who THAT could be! LOL

Welcome, LongHairGal! You certainly have hit the nail on the head. I was always appalled at the attitude towards single women. I came became a Witness as an adult, and single. You would have thought I had 2 heads! When I would make comments about their 18th century attitudes, I would get that typical long blank stare like I was from another planet. I'm so glad to be free of all that nonsense.
