I've just noticed I have a jumbo Jet in my back garden, I'm sure it was not there this morning, it's flattened a few flower beds, but I'm sure it will come in handy when we go on holiday!

"APPRECIATE HER FEMININE QUALITIES"
"A woman psychologist wrote: "Basically, women feel while men think." By itself, one trait is not better than the other; they simply are different. We do not care for people who are unfeeling; neither do we like thoughtless persons. Obviously, women have the capacity both to feel and to think, and the same is true of men. But, generally speaking, a woman's emotions more readily come to the fore, while a man is usually more inclined to try to subdue emotion in favor of what he considers a logical approach to matters. Though exceptions, of course, are found, this is another difference that makes husband and wife complements of each other. Along with her basically more emotional makeup, her strong interest in people often causes her to talk more than the man. And she needs someone to return the talk. This is where many husbands fall short."
Scientists decoding the human genome have discovered that just 78 genes separate men from women. But what are they?
Her are some funny differences from the BBC web Site:
Ask a woman in the street how to get somewhere and she will direct via shops. Ask a man and it will be via pubs.
Men appreciate the importance of a 42 inch plasma screen. Women do not.
Men speak in sentences. Women speak in paragraphs.
Women could never invent weapons that kill, only ones that make you feel really bad and guilty until you surrender
Men can write their names clearly in the snow.

it seems that americans are keen to get amongst the big boys when it comes to soccer skills as can be seen from the embedded page futher down this post.. however, i have a sneaky feeling that americans might well be lacking in the genetic skills department when it comes to actually understanding the finer points of the noble art of soccer, let alone having any natural aptitude for the game.
this is a an excerpt from a book by bill bryson, a very popular american author who keeps us brits amused for hours with his experiences of living in england.this is bill's account of his first ever attempt to play soccer:.
"i had watched football (soccer) on tv and i thought i had a fair idea of what was required, so when one of the team lofted a ball in my direction, i decided to flick it casually into the net with my head, the way i had seen kevin keegan do it.
Football is a great sport (we don't call it soccer).
If you Americans come over, go and watch a football match, you can feel the atomphere is fantastic, sing and shout as much as you like, sway with the fans chant the chants. and when your sides scores the whole ground thunders.
you have to be there to love it.

in the newspaper today there was an article on pope john paul's visit to crotia.
this is his 100th pilramage, in his 83rd year.
in 2 weeks he is scheduled to go to bosnia, where i doubt he'll get as warm as a reception as he did in croatia.
The Pope is a good man (but lost) and cares for people (he thinks), but he is like a celebrity and plays with peoples emotions, when he came to Ireland in the 80s he set the whole nation on fire, by just being there.(I was)….
What good as he done for the world (nothing....maybe a little)?
The issue of contraception as in my humble opinion brought about much suffering (in this the hungry world); and added too much guilt (how many sincere Catholics suffer from guilt?), to good and honest people of this world..
He pretends to be lowly, but look at the continued harm and suffering he has given this world, by not allowing birth control.
He should have changed the rules, or died years ago….

The Shulammite Remnant
1. 'Dear Shulammite maiden, so lovely and fair,
Your spiritual virtues are many and rare.
Your speaking is pleasant, your charms a delight.
Your fellowship holds me, beloved Shulammite.'
2. Thus speaks her Fine Shepherd, Christ Jesus her Lord.
He wants her to share his eternal reward.
And how does the fair one, so firm as a wall,
Reply to her Lord, as a model for all?
3. 'Exclusive devotion is not up for hire,
Since blazings of love are like blazings of fire.
Unyielding as Sheol all true love will be.
Like flame of Jehovah is your love for me.'
4. Fair Shulammite remnant, temptations resist.
Stay clean for your Bridegroom; on virtue insist.
Your virgin companions that walk in your train
Rejoice at your course and the prize you will gain.
