I debated with my "devout" JW mom and her JW elders for 5 hours
by booker-t inas most of you know by now i have told you that my mom has been a "devout" jw for over 40 years and i can't get her to budge.
well the last time we debated she left me totally confused and in a daze.
i did some fast research and this past sunday we had a free-for-all debate that lasted 5 hours.

...if there are two people on an elevator and one of them is receiving insructions from another on the phone on how to stab the other person on the elevator...then is the one doing the stabbing really the murderer or is he just getting insrtuctions from the murderer on the outside and is really only acting as a murderer?

Oh how they are making Jehovah's name proud. If there is a Devine One, then there has to be an extra little punishment for these special hypocrites when the day of reckoning comes.

I whole heartedly agree and no one has fully explained why a 2003 report names the Indian branch of WTBS as one of the largest recipients and one of the largest donors (page 6 i believe).

Is it legal for the WT to Disassociate someone?
by confusedjw insince it is well defined that when the wt kicks you out you are disfellowshipped - there action.
and that when you want to leave you disassociate - your action.

I think it?s all legal semantics. In the case of blood, think of all the families who could sue if loved ones died rather than be ?officially? disfellowshipped for taking blood products?and then the society reverses policy and allows a certain product to be taken at a later date? I believe the lawyers have told them that it?s better for the individual to make up his own mind and/or decision in such cases.
What chaps me is, the WTBS treats the people who want to walk/fade away by disassociating exactly like DF?d members??like fornicators and drunkards?, etc., THAT IS SLANDER!

I think lonleysheep, Mary and others have nailed it. Many are probably considered "spiritually weak" and this is their way of possibly getting their ticket to Paradise (note to Avishai: Not the one in CA). I had an experience that confirmed this about a year ago. I was nailing posters all over my town about the child molestation mess. This one lady, a spiritually weak sister took it upon herself to write a letter to the editor and call it all lies. I could not have asked for a better opportunity to witness to the community.
I responded with my own letter to the editor and backed everything up with irrefutable facts. I am sure that sister got a talking to from the elders...something like, "now Sister Weak, we realize you were trying to defend Jehovah's Organization but that is better left up to the elders, so NO more letters to the editor!" In my second letter I challenged the Jehovah's Witness elders of the community to refute my statements. Nothing from the chicken-shit jerks! I think I'll post my original poster, along with the letters to the editor for you folks...you should enjoy it.

Merrymag...It's the PSA that shows a young girl "chatting" to someone on the evil internet while a voiceover says somethings like..."yes he knows all about you...he knows what you like", etc and you see type on her screen that is something to the effect that this person has tickets to a concert for her...blah blah...and finally the camera dissolves to "his" screen and then pulls away to reveal...A DIRTY OLD MAN, in his undershirt complete with beer can. Hmmm, I wonder if they used a GB member for the part? Oh yeah, at the very end it shows a good little perfect JW family and says something about listening to words from the bible and quotes a scripture...and has an 800# up for a very short time.
