I just passed my written test! Woo-hoo!
by gilwarrior inwell, i have taken my written test for my taxi job five times already.
this morning i took the test for the fifth time.
out of fourty questions, you can only miss eight.

Congrats to you Gil ! You actually have a test to take in Nevada huh? Here in California, I am driving limo while I get my tv production biz going again. Anyway, I'm allowed to travel the crazy freeways with ten unsuspecting bodies in the back...and no test of any kind. No drug test. The only test I had was about a half-hour in the car with the GM to make sure I didn't run into anything. In fact, it was in San Francisco I think just a couple of weeks ago where a drunk limo driver plowed into a bunch of peds killing a couple. You should feel good that you have a license in a state that is obviously more concerned than my home state. Hope you get some very big tips !

crazy JW family stories

my father is a painter and he went on a job to home after a jw family moved out.he noticed there was wiring under the flooring going to the fridge.he asked what this was about and the landlord told him a jw family lived here and the father wired the fridge to an alarm.he would only allow his family to eat when he said so.if they tried to sneak any food it would set the alarm off,i was told they went there separate ways.wonder why?

Speaking of killing cats....We had an older "glorious" elder who hated cats and was always killing them around his house...didn't care if they were somebody's pet or not. Anyway, to dispose of them, he would bag them and put 'em in his freezer until the trashmen came around. At any given time he would have a cat or two in his freezer. Oh those Glorious Ones...how wise they were.

Congregation get-togethers
by freedom96 indid your hall ever organize times for the congregation to do activities?.
about every 6-9 months, mine would have a congregation picnic.
people would bring food, and we would play a softball game.

ChakkaConned...you nailed it. I remember well, the few and far-between picnics and "gatherings". In my current profession I had occassion to visit a very large 7th Day Adventist Church. This place was huge...with grounds that held a day care...playground for preschool...a baseball diamond...an after school place for kids to play pool and misc games. I waited inside while they finished their church services which included enthusiastic singing and following the words on an projected screen. After it was over they fired up the kitchen and invited me to eat with them...probably all veggie stuff but hey it was nice. When was the last time a "worldly" came to witless function and was invited to join in...unless of course they thought they could get a study out of it. I'm sure 7th Day's have their own hangups but with their hospitality they made the Witlesses look like real losers...which of course they are. I have always been irritated because the Org gets sooo much in the way of $$$ and gives absolutley NOTHING back to the flock.

Back in / out of the hospital
by Amazing ina week ago thursday, i realized i was developing an upper respatory problem, likely bhronchitis, or maybe pneumoina.
i have suffered with this and asthma all my life since i was 2 years old.
however, after my heart attack in may, i dreaded this happening, as the reduced oxygen can mess up an already weak heart.

I just got laid off
by eisenstein ini got laid off tuesday, the 29th, ten minutes before midnite, right before i was supposed to go home.

i am kind of upset, but know times are hard right now.

Eisenstein.....Hang in there. Things have a way of turning around and working out for the best. I've had some very stressful times lately but now I'm seeing a turnaround. I've been laid off before and then had more time to persue Pioneering (JOKING!)...but it will give you time to readjust and maybe get a handle on changing courses or maybe persuing something else. Tenacity...that's the key I think. Good Luck!
