this was the first visit in 10 years.
an inactive friend told me they are supposed to visit every year.
Four years since my last shepherding visit...hmmm...I don't think they're coming...and I bought an angel food cake for them too. Oh yes, Unbeliever...they didn't call your sister first because they probably wanted to catch her in her debased state...you know, smokin' drinkin' and fornicatin'.

", containing maps.. when it was released, does anyone know if the speaker mentioned how much better the maps in the brochure were than "worldly maps"?.

my wife, who is intent on re-activating herself as a dub since i da'd myself, went to the convention this past weekend.
she showed me this new publication entitled "learn from the great teacher", and placed great emphasis on these two pages i scanned and am posting.
it makes a poor show of telling children what to do when confronted by a child abuser.
If they are so worried about our children, why didn't they put together a book 20 years ago? Their attempt to cover their asses is so shallow it's laughable. Being in the media spotlight for thousands of child molestation cover-up charges wouldn't have anything to do with it...would it? Of course not. -BONEZZ

Let me see now...They use Genesis 19:4,5...the account of Lot, where the bad old people want to rape the angels he's giving shelter to...so Lot in his infinite wisdom offers his two virgin daughters to them instead. Now I'm no expert in child pyschology or abuse treatment...but it just seems to me that this may not be the correct account to relay to a child who's been molested or even been approached by a molester. Once again, WTBS opens mouth and inserts their collective feet! -BONEZZ

Don't know about you folks but I felt very guilty when it came to Holiday time and I was supposed to cut those Xmas spots and such. Tried to rework them...make them third-person, etc...still felt guilty. How 'bout you?

Wow..you guys are dregging up lotsa memories. Got into radio in '75..yep expecting to be the first to report on Big "A" ..as I was a back-slidin' JW associate (born into it but not baptised). Started with a provisional license and finally got my 3rd phone. Very exciting...actually got into it to meet chicks and I was painfully shy so I figured if I could do that I could pull myself outa my shell. To this day I have no problem in from of a crowd if I have a microphone..and a program or support crew...but stick me in front of crowd, as in public speaking, and I freeze....go figure. Worked at lotsa stations, mostly afternoon drive (country and rock), one morning gig...lotsa production. Changed over to TV producing in the 90's, but still do lotsa voice-overs in my neck of the woods...in fact I do so many for different agencies, and I'm pretty cheap, I'm known as the V-O Hoe. Just recently put together a short form show that a syndication company is working on getting out there to a whole buncha stations I hope. Gotta go to eat right now but I gotta come back to this thread and maybe email some of you other fellow radio freaks...remember Bob & Ray...Stan Freeberg...gimmee a few minutes.

you ever have one of those things that happen to you that just leaves you speechless.
well the other day one of my best friends (someone i have known for years) told me that they might have cancer.
they have a tumor in their leg that just changed size as well as a small lump in their arm.

Sorry about your friend. I was diagnosed with big C in December 2002 ...had a fast growing lump...about the size of a golf ball when they took it out. It was near my lymph glands but thankfully did not get in them. Surgeon removed it and I am now a 7-month survivor. It's damn scary. I also had a pre-cancerous lump cut out of my chest...and I have two more in my lymph nodes that they're not concerned with right now because there is no movement or growth..so they're prob benign (knocking on wood-which is against dub rules). Hang in there. There are a lot more success stories now than a few years ago. Also, pick up Lance Armstrong's book...he had testicular cancer that spread to his brain. His is a fabulous success story, more about his cancer than his bike career. Get involved with other survivors...Good luck (oops forbidden dubbie phrase) to you and your friend. Odds are better than ever now.

You were great especially being outnumbered 3 to 1. That was one thing I was taught...save the other dubbies ass by re-directing the topic or jumping to the rescue with a scripture. While one dubbie trys to converse rationally (their head is really spinning) the other dubbie is frantically searching his robot memory for some tidbit of info or scripture that can help them make a point...I reiterate...You did GREAT.

my first husband was an alcoholic who had no respect for women.
i suffered with a lot of verbal and emotional abuse.if i wasn't in a romantic mood, then there was something wrong with me.
