i've read several times on here people mentioning something about malawi.
can some one tell me what happend or give me the link about it?
i tried the search but without results.
I remember the letter writing campaign in the late 80's or early 90's when we were "encouraged" to write letters of protest to the Malawi officials on behalf of the ones being persecuted. I did so. I think they published the addresses of the proper Malawi authorities in one of the rags.

my husband who was never a jw does not see the humor in this - but i knew ya'll would.
occasionally i will ask my mother (a devout jw) a biblical question to get her thinking.
i used to ask her a lot of questions, but it put a strain on our relationship and i finally decided i just needed to love her and accept her the way she is.

i have long thought that a billboard campaign might be effective in reaching many jw's, especially those without a computer.
imagine a large donation to jwd with the stipulation that it support a message billboard near every assembly hall and summer convention center.
what would you write?
There's a billboard a few hundred feet from the old hall I used to attend...Someday the following will appear on that billboard....

reading simon's thread on the memorial(tm), made me realize something, that i have to share with the gang.
this is 100% true.. in the early 1990s, my parents (father = elder/secretary) took a week's vacation in cuba.. due to either poor planning, or "neglect of spiritual things(tm)", they realized they were going to be in cuba for the memorial.
(can you say whoops!!!???).

poor thing, she's had alzheimer's for about 10 years and the last year she's been on hospice care because she's been so close to death.
the past few months she's been slowly filling up with water -- they gave her lasix (not sure of the spelling) to relieve the edema and it worked, sort of.
last weekend she actually looked a little better.
I am very sorry for your loss.
