Does God mind being called the wrong name?

since it is a well known fact that god's name is definitely not jehovah, but this was a name only in 'operation' for the last few hundred years thanks to a catholic monk, doesn't the very jealous, bad tempered god of the ot mind being called, in effect, 'fred' when his real name is 'george'.. i would think that call anyone by a knowingly incorrect name is rude, rude, rude, so how does this bad tempered, psycopathic, mass murdering god of the ot feel about this transgression on the part of the wtbts/jehovah's witnesses!!????.

You are right on!

I used to always get irritated when they would make fun of other religions who just called him, "God." In reality that was more respectful than calling him by, most likely, the wrong name. As humans I think most of us would rather be called "Mister" or "Sir" than some made up name..in fact it wouldn't make any sense.

I used to argue with my elder study masters about that. They would always repy that the Israelites called him by a name and so should we. I would drive them nuts because I would tell them if He wanted to be called by a name then why didn't He give us a name instead of a crypto-puzzle? Why was it allowed to be lost? Of course they would just mumble about my lack of spirituality.

Geico Insurance?

i got a automobile insurance quote from geico (you know, the lizard advertisement).

it's about $400 less a year than my current insurance.

i thought my current insurance was a great deal.

Geico may be ok if you are insured with them...BUT if you get hit by someone who is insured by them and file a claim against them...You WILL get screwed. They tried to screw me but it backfired and cost them extra $.

A college girl hit me in my big ass Buick convertible. Didn't hurt the car too much and I was ok. We exchanged insurance. It was her fault which she did not deny. I contacted Geico. Couple of days later I see a guy in front of my house taking pics of my car. I run out and he says he's taking them for Geico...fine. I take my car to two different body shops (CA law states you only have to take it to one). I send Geico the estimate ($1,200) from the cheaper shop. I saw their work and liked them better than the more expensive one.

A week goes by and I get a check in the mail from Geico for $800. $400 less than the cheapest shop would fix my car. I call Geico and ask why. They tell me that is what they pay...take it or leave it. So I go to an attorney. Before I can tell him who the insurance company is he says, "Geico, right?" He tells me they do that on all their claims...undercut by a few hundred because it's cheaper for the affected party to accept the low payment than to get an attorney and fight it.

So I am pissed...what to do? what to do? Well I wasn't hurt in the crash and never had any intention of turning in a medical claim...but since they tried to screw me...turn about is fair play. So I called their hotline and told them I was experiencing lots of neck and back pain. They told me I had a certain amount of time to turn in a medical claim which is what I did. I wound up getting an extra $1,000 to cover medical....so they wound up screwing Theirselves by trying to be so cheap! I hate them. I have Mercury Insurance which is cheaper.

i was talking this morning while i was preaching with this sister, and she asked me: do you know that the preaching work will be done soon?

i asked her: what do you mean?

she responded back: a sister (and i know her also) told me that her brother heard that the preaching is gonna be over because there are only two countries that jw can't go because it's too dangerous and yada yada yada.

1) build a hall in the center of the city, not far away like they usually do.. 2) make it 1 hour meetings.

3) dress clean, that's all.

4) beards or no beards, that's not important, it's what's in your heart that counts.. .

My Kingdom Hall is near extinction!!

our kingdom hall was started in 1973 with only 3 families totaling 13 people.it grew to 85 members in the early 90's and that's because many were related to these 3 families.with older members dying,the young leaving when they reach 18, 5 divorces and many disfellowshipped,the congregation is down to 26 members.talk about low morale.

Who thinks Killing or Dying for your country is a good Idea?

My dad was a Marine in WW2 and was on many hot spots (Saipan, Okinawa, Tarawa) and became a hardcore JW afterwards. He later saw how corrupt the Dubs were and DA'd. But as a child I used to ask him, "If everyone in the US and allies had been JW's wouldn't Hitler have won and killed all the JW's?" He always replied that, "Jehovah wouldn't allow that."

Well if Jehovah didn't allow Hitler to win, then it means he supported, or at least allowed the anihlation of Hitler thru the means of military might from the opposing sides...afterall HE controls everything and is positioning everything for the FINAL War...correct?

And even if HE didn't have anything to do with it, you should thank our military who sacrificed so much to defeat Hitler so he wouldn't eliminate the JW's and other minority and ethnic groups.

As a Dubbie child I always felt (& still do) that we owed the soldiers from WW2 a great debt of gratitude otherwise we could have been marching into giant ovens here in the States.

This has nothing to do with phoney-baloney wars such as Bush's where I agree with others, stick them in the front line or better yet, their children. I'll send my kids when I see the Bush twins on the front lines in Iraq.

I also would have no problem putting a bullet in the head of someone who has come into my home to do harm to me or my family. The same goes for protecting the country where I live. We just have to keep from being bamboozeled by corrupt politicians and corporate interests.

Do you truly WANT the Watchtower to collapse? If so why?

there are the abuses of course, the diabloical 'two witness' rule applied to allegations of molestation, the reckless 'blood ban' in all it's tortuous complexities (which by watchtowers own admission has resulted in many fatalaties) and the cruel punishment of shunning which has caused so much suffering and pain to many of us here.. is it for these reasons that you want to see the watchtower fall or is it simply that you want to see them humiliated and broken for what they've done to you?

most of us aren't bitter or selfish enough to want personal revenge against the watchtower but i'd be lying if i said i didn't sometimes think like that.. the reason for my original question is that i sometimes feel a bit hypocritical.

i try to accord respect to jw's and individuals of all faiths, (yes, even when i go off on one of my atheistic diatriabes) but whereas i allow myself to be hostile to the watchtower i shrink from being so forthright against other 'christian' faiths whose corrosive nature may not be so easily apparent but is there nonetheless.. i guess my question is; why do we want the watchtower to fall but do not wish all religion to fall?.

Once I get my daughter back I will not be so pro-active but I will still support those who have lost family members to this evil group of lying, pedofile supporting old men!

I'd be just as pissed if it were Moonies or Mormons..but it wasn't. It was the only true religion chosen by Jehovah's son Jesus to show everyone else how wrong they are. F*ck you and f*ck them.
