according to this article, the end of this particular war was the start of a strong bond, now known as a special relationship between our 2 countries.
http://www.napoleonguide.com/campaign_1812.htm.
and, ever since that date, the special relationship between britain and the usa has been totally fair and balanced with both countries giving and receiving in exactly equal amounts.. .
dear yanks,

i'm not sure if i've phrased the question correctly, but what is it that you think gives god or whoever else the right to ask (or demand) the worship of us humans.
we do. and nothing and nobody else.
the word "worship" is an old english world, and examples of its use as far back the ninth century are extant. its root word is "worth" with the suffix "ship", itself related to the verb "shape" - think about this carefully folks - , being added.
if an individual were to think a being's worth to be less than that of a row of beans, then that individual would be unlikely to go about ritualistically celebrating this small measure if worth. if all individuals were likewise to hold this being in very low esteem, then nobody would 'shape it worth', that is to say they would not worship it.
it could then bleat all day and night about rights and we could all point and laugh.

i am curious as to why jws aren't allowed to have facial hair.
and why, then, was it okay for jesus?.
inquiring minds want to know.. l1
why does the organisation always tell the brothers not to grow facial hair when it's the sisters that suffer most from the problem!

my husband is a slowly and quietly fading away jehovahs witness.
i am not nor will i ever be a jw.
his mother is an absolute witch and i want to out her to her congregation.
doing this will likely cement their existing views. if a "good" dub denies allegations that are levelled at him/her by "the world", then other dubs will simply hold the "worldly one" in even greater contempt than they already do, and will probably see the dub as being the sole victim of injustice in the matter.

has anyone who left the "truth" felt like i do... that you cant approach god anymore?
which "god"?

new-years eve my husband and i went to my sister's house to bring in the new-year.
my sister knowing much about jws cornered my husband and said " happy new-year don" and he replied" yep it's a 2005".
i have been away from the bs of jwism for a long time and for the life of me i can not remember why it is wrong to celebrate a new year.
they can't say "happy new year" because they know that they are not going to have one.

what are the ancient words translated into english "apostate", from da bible?
and what are their actual definitions and compare this to the wts definitions?
i'm sure there will be some discrepencies.
the definition contained at the bottom of the post from "fairchild" nicely illustrates the murkiness surrounding this word. the greek word "apostasia", a later form of the root word "apostasis" appears twice in the new testament, and denotes not a kind of person, nor an act of doing something, but rather a kind af condition, namely that of having been seperated from a thing (a belief, political party etc.), and of now standing, settled, away from it.
this word ought not neccessarily to be a pejorative term, but we might reflect that the word is often used as an slur - and always has been, unfortunately.

i had a brief discussion with my wife about the practice of shunning and i asked her if the act of associating with a df'ed or "apostate" individual would get someone disfellowshipped.
she denied that it would, saying that it was not included among the specific "disfellowshipping offenses" listed in the bible.
yet my understanding is that there are many things that can get a jw disfellowshipped which aren't among the immoral practices specifically listed by paul in that context.

that you may prove yourselves sons of your father who is in the heavens, since he makes his sun rise upon wicked people and good and makes it rain upon righteous people and unrighteous.
for if you love those loving you, what reward do you have?
are not also the tax collectors doing the same thing?
no, they will only harm them.
