Oh, BTW... just in case some "troll" wants to know why my wife wasnt in a wheelchair if she was sooo sick, I will tell you-because @ 27 years of age, the pain of NOT being able to do for yourself is worse than knowing you are going to die.

Hi folks,
Heres a sickening experience. My wife, who died @ age 27, was quite ill for some time prior to passing away. The year b4 she died, our DC was held @ Veterans Stadium in Philly, PA. In the heat of summer, the Vet is pretty brutal. The first 3 rows in each section (unedr shade) are reserved for elderly and those who are ill. Given my wifes condition, we decided to take advantage of those arrangements.
Upon finding a couple of seats in a reserved area, we were approached by an attendant who, seeing our age, reminded us that that area was reserved for elderly, etc, etc. I respectfully let him know that my wife was truly ill. His response? "She doesnt look sick to me." I was FLOORED, my wife suggested we go to another section. So, we tried again. We met with the same bias for a second time. My wife wanted to cry. She could barely walk, and here were "brothers" who knew NOTHING about us making judgements about her physical condition, and by extension, they were calling us liars.
So, we LEFT!! We eventually went to another DC in Uniondale, NY, which was an indoor arrangement.
"LOVE & TRUTH?" Uh, yeah, and I am Mother Theresa.

i am new this site and would like to introduce myself.
i am 36 years old/young, female and live in the usa.
i drifted from the jw's in 1990. i have only recently started to research the jw way because i was afraid to second guess what i was taught for 26 years.
Cassilline, I forgot to mention-among the diversitie you will find here is that of beliefs. There are ex-JWs, loyal JW Defenders, athiests, agnostics, those with eastern beliefs, Mormon, etc. But one thing is for sure-all think and express themselves freely. Even the Loyalists think freely, because, as you well know, the Society has warned against visiting internet sites like this one and associating with ones it calls apostates. Dont let that term scare you-it is so misused in WTS lingo, that I doubt most JWs know the true meaning of the word.
You go on being like the Boreans, nd see for yourself if the things you have been taught are indeed true.
Also, I like your signature at the end of your post. With a motto lik that, you will do just fine.

Hello Cassiline, and welcome to the forum.
Guilt and thought control is one of the primary ways the WTS uses to keep members in check. You have taken the first step in ridding yourself of that guilt by researching the facts from outside sources. You will need to decide if the "TRUTH" is indeed the "TRUTH". No one can make that determination for you.
If you find the time, go to the personal experiences forum, and check out some of the life stories posted by some of the members here on the board. I am sure that you will be enlightened.
Your participation, as well as your experiences are most welcome here. You will find open-minded, albeit diverse persons and personalities. Sometimes folks truly bump heads here, but most mean well. You will find comedy, dramedy (LOL), and sometimes outright goofyness, but most importantly, you will find lots of caring as you seek answers to important questions about the WTS, its doctrines, and history.
Once again, wecome, and enjoy your participation here.

p.s. I almost forgot-you will also find freedom to express yourself w/o fear of repurcussions by the thought police of thw WTS.
read the following when you get a chance .
i am curious to your reaction.

Truly disturbing. I guess that ANY fantasy put to paper can be used against a person and commit them to incarceration. I know that this involved child porn fantasies, but our thoughts are all we have left in a society which continues to strip us of our rights.
Hell, just watch the LIFETIME Channel. Its full of women and children as victims. Are they going to jail all the writers and actors?
Consider this possible aspect-journaling is a way suggested by mental health professionals to "get stuff out of ones system". Maybe this was this guy's way of NOT committing a crime.
The THOuGHT POLICE are alive and on the prowl.

perhaps you recall the instance in the bible where samson made a wager with the philistines that they couldnt guess his riddle.
as it turned out they wheedled the answer out of him by his fiancee, but the point is that they had a wager.
since the underlying assumption of the apostasy is that we are not living in the last days of this system of things, and that this world is not facing anything remotely like the biblical apocalypse, at least not any time soon, in the spirit of such antagonism, i would like to propose a similar wager.
YAWWWWWNNNN More smoke and mirrors from the All UN-Knowing YK. Is no secret that the economy is on a pretty unstable rollercoaster these days. As a matter of history, any financial specialist will tell you that there generally 3 down years in a 10 year span when deaing with the most volatile stocks on the market. Add to that, the holidays are approaching, and retailers will be watching their bank accounts pretty much starting with the beginning of the fall season.
Add that up, and you may have by October what may be the outgrowth of the "mild recession" we are experiencing RIGHT NOW. The severity of such remains to be seen.
So, YK is NOT uttering any kind of PROPHECY, he's just riding the wave of uncertainty the economy has been experiening for some time now.
Everyone, save your $100-go out and eat in a nice restaurant or something.

here goes i have been drinking rum and coke (bacardi) since i can remember and finally realized that maybe it is contributing to my severly harsh hangovers.
so i went on a quest in search of a new drink.

for those who missed the episode of the practice, where one of the main characters refuses blood because she is a jw, it is gong to be rerun tonight.
it airs on abc, usually at 10. check your schedule.
this one was a good one.....her mother insists she is a jw, and won't allow her to have blood.
Mulan, TY for the reminder. I saw it the first time around, altho I think the issue went into the next episode. In any case, I missed the conclusion of it, so I will be sure to watch.
